I really liked Dr Cousins, he cares about the lectures and dedicates a lot of time and thought to the lectures that he has. There is a LOT of reading to prepare for class, and he has you turn in a short response to questions regarding that day's reading, which helps you learn to think more critically on the writing so you can participate more.

Only have to buy one book, the rest are provided online. Participation is important, but there's only two papers throughout the semester. He grades the papers hard, but gives good feedback if you ask. Lots of reading and you're required to present in front of the class at least once. Great guy, though. Super nice.

I really liked Dr. Cousins! The hybrid course was awesome. He's pretty monotone and slow, so the actual class is boring. But as a person he is awesome and he's really willing to help you succeed. Most of your grade will come from the papers. If you write well, you'll do well, he is particular on his grading.

I took his American Literature class. He never tested on anything that he didn't explicitly cover in a lecture, so his exams were very fair. He also encouraged students to think critically about the text, and taught them how to do so. Overall, he was a solid teacher.

Super frustrated with this class. Professor was very unclear about the specifics on how he was grading the paper, so the feedback I got was confusing and unhelpful. I took the hybrid course so it only met once a week, which I thought was a good amount of class time.

He gives a new definition to boring. If you want to be on Facebook all class while a man is ranting about his love for native americans this is the class for you. He is the worst grammar Nazi in all of voca-fascism movement. Boring.

There are 5 papers total. The first two essay topics were chosen for us and centered around digital technology. I love to write about almost anything, but this topic is bo-o-ring. I submitted sub-par work on papers 1 and 2 because I just couldn't relate to the topic. Luckily for me, we had free reign to choose our topics for papers 3-5 A grade.

I loved Cousins as a professor! I took the hybrid class and it was great. Easy homework assignments that are helpful. Not many papers and fair grader. One 4 page paper, one five page paper, then a proposal and annotated bib that are both for the final 8 page research paper. One hundred percent recommend.

Taking the hybrid class, we meet once a week and I feel like I don't learn a lot. I have to teach myself half the time. He grades hard on essays which is bringing down my grade.

He is a really tough grader. He grades easy on the assignments but on the actual essays, he is tough & essays are main part of your grade. He does give feedback but it is hard to know what he expects before you turn in the essay when it's too late. I am taking the hybrid class, I only meet once a week and I feel like I don't learn a whole lot.

One of my favorite professors. Very willing to talk to students and give feedback on papers. I really wasn't looking forward to taking American Lit, but because of him, it ended up being my favorite class of the semester. There is A LOT of reading, however, I took the course along with 3 other lit courses and it was still manageable.

I loved Robert Cousins. He cares about the lectures and dedicates alot of time and thought to his classes. The class requires alot of reading and online discussion for each reading. Not necessarily an easy class but he offered extra credit for turning essays in early which was awesome.

I recommend this hybrid ENGL 2010 class. He is clear with expectations and very organized. He gives great topics to get you started writing for the first two papers of the semester. Papers 1 & 2 are about 4 pages long. Papers 3 & 4 are prep work for the final research paper which is an 8 page argumentative-topic of your choice. Doable class.

Dr. Cousins is very organize and available if you visit him during his office hours. My class was hybrid and I feel like I learned more in 1010 than this class. Class was boring and lots of group work.

I really enjoyed this class. He has great lectures with class participation. If you've done the readings and invested thought in them, then you can gain a lot of insight and understanding in this class. He has clear expectations and makes the reading enjoyable. Going to class is fun and the online assignments are not difficult. Readings are online.

Great Teacher! I was in hybrid class so it was half online. He was helpful with all of my questions. He was very organized and clear about his teaching. Grades easy on assignments and doesn't care if they are a little late. He does However grade hard on the actual essays but it is fair. I would recommend him to anyone

I absolutely loved this class and Cousins! I was in his American Lit before 1860 class, which was half online and half in class. The reading assignments were long, but the discussions we had in class were worth the length. There are so many connections he helps you make. He is an extremely fair grader. He is sweet and very insightful. He's awesome!
