Mr Fonfeder is an incredible professor all these negative reviews of him at just student who get bad grades since they don't participate. If you participate and do the homework he's unreal and really teaches the material throughly I highly recommended him. I wish he taught all classes in Hofstra

Monotone lectures. 0 insight. Notes printed out that are illegible and are from 1970, which is the least bit helpful. Exams are not from info from the book or class. Teach yourself to truly understand.Try to get within the 70's on exams, because he curves.Got a B, but pass/failed this course, so not to hurt my GPA.If any chance, take it with Shane.

Dr. Fonfeder is very knowledgeable about the subject, but his classes aren't fun. His lectures go on and on, his homeworks are decent, and his exams are exceptionally hard. He gives curves, so that's very helpful. I wouldn't quite recommend him if you have other options.

I was expecting a grade of B or B+ but was pleasantly surprised when I received an A-. He takes into account if your grade goes up on tests as the semester goes on. He isn't the best Professor I have had, not by a long shot, but if you're taking him for a Grad class, you can't really complain about the work and the effort required.

Although the professor is nice, he does not explain the chapters. There is graded online homework which he always messes up because he is stupid. He is so unorganized it will throw you off track. His test are hard and examples he gives in class is so irrelevant to the test. You basically have to teach yourself through the textbook. Buy text!!
