Brilliant man, but incredibly full of himself. For some reason, he seems to feel the need to validate himself to his mostly 20-something year-old students by referring back to his work at every opportunity (e.g. "In MY opera, for which I was both the composer AND librettist...". It's petty and immodest. Who is he trying to impress?

Mr. Hatten is the most awesome teacher ever. He reminds me of harrison ford in Indiana Jones when Indiana is the archeology professor and all the girls are in love with him. He gets so excited about Beethoven quartets, it's awesome

Prof. Hatten is an amazing teacher. He encourages students to think and allows them to have their own ideas and opinions. He is extremely knowledgable and the class is very enjoyable.
