At the beginning of the semester, I really did not like Dr. Heineman. he can come off as a bit opinionated at times, but over the course of the semester, he grew on me and is one of my favorite professors. Coming from a political science major, Heineman is a great person to be on the good side of, as he has quite a bit of influence at Alfred

A very talented lecturer, intersting to listen to, but if you're not a auditory learner it could mean trouble. He wrote maybe 3 words on the board all semester. Tests are sorta hard but doable, likes to poke fun at students in a good natured way. Highly recomended

He's a no non-sence professor. However, if you do your work, go to class, and take good notes, you will do fine. He's very helpful, and he doesn't care about papers being handed in late. He does like to pick on students, he will fail you if you miss a certain number of classes, and he's not the most lenient on final grades.

I know people might disagree, but I really dig him. I think he wrote his lesson plans before I was born, and his teaching style is definitely more lecture than anything else, but listen closely because he's got some serious pearls of wisdom... plus anything he says in class is game on his tests. The man knows government and politics, he's lived the life. I'm pretty sure that he holds class at 8:20 as a means of torture, but his dry sense of humor certainly makes up for it.
