I took as many classes with Bob as I could. You got as much from him as you put into the class. If you went looking to learn he was really good at supplementing good intellectual conversation. His sense of humor is great. You don't have to go to class to get an A, but I attended every class.

Do not need to go to class on days other than test hand-outs, which included three take home tests. Do not buy the books as he will discuss them in class and assign a test that has little to do with them. Very funny, and a nice guy.

Hollenger was a good experience for me, who has very little interest in Philosophy. He gave take home tests and was generous with his grading as well. He is interesting to listen to, even though sometimes it is just rants.

Class was insanely boring. Attending was pointless. Essays were stupid questions which could be done without reading most of the time. I didn't get anything out of this class.

Wacky sense of humor. He jokes about how useless philosophy really is. Grade was determined by 3 take-home essay exams. He grades very very leniently on them (try to show some deep insight if you can.) You probably want to go to class and participate in discussion just to keep him in this good mood.

This class was held down at DMACC and required nothing but a 2-3 page summary each week (that he doesn't read) over 20-35 pages of reading. 3.5 hour class never lasted more than 2 hours the entire semester. He can be inappropriate at times, but I like that he's not afraid to say what's on his mind. NO TESTS!!! For this class anyway...

So we heard from everyone that he doesn't read the papers and you don't have to go to class...well he must have changed his mind mid-semester - we all got A's on the first test, but he said most of us did really crappy on the 2nd test and most people got an F. So...he must be getting pissed that hardly anyone shows up for class.

Ok, he's a 60+ year old guy from New York, of course he's going to be cynical. He's also funny as hell. The class is an excellent GPA padder and a great way to kill an hour if you're bored.

Awesome professor. He's very intelligent and allows a very open level of discussion. Not shy about profanity, but that's what makes him great. It's a very informal class atmosphere that is enjoyable. Intelligent people can actually learn quite a bit in his class, although the dumb ones might not.

Easiest A to be had at ISU. As far as I can tell, he doesn't read the tests/papers, just makes sure you turn them in. Lectures are 100% skippable, although they're often very entertaining, alebit uninformative. Great for "padding" classes.

I went to class 14 times in the entire semester and will have 100%. The lecture is bruatlly boring, but it is a very easy "A". I'm not sure what I was supposed to get out of class but a 4.0 and 3 credits. Hollinger is pretty cool though.

Lecture is worthless. He drones on about minutiae. However, he is funny when not talking about philosophy. Humor is dry and often profane. Would hand out take-home exam and then give students time to leave, saying "F*ck you" (jokingly) as most of the class left.

HILLARIOUS man, he cracks the class up. even if you hate classes, it's worth it just to hear his jokes. phil is a boring subject, but he makes it funny. tests are easy and you do the readings on you own. Makes school fun
