Once he was 45 minutes late to his office hours, but that is my only complaint. Dr. J is obviously invested in stat. He is happy to be a professor. Homework was tough but to the point. Tests were long but nothing we didnt learn. Always willing to pause for any questions. Only mistake would be not asking him questions when you dont understand

Prof. J is good at explaining things. He incorporates real world examples and creates models to better explain things which really helped me learn. He makes a dull subject as interesting as it can be.

I changed my major from biology to stat because of Intermediate Stat I took with Jernigan. He is truly passionate about stat and gives great advice. I strongly encourage any stat majors to take a class with him.

He teaches the material well and his tests are almost all take home, but he grades very hard and takes off for literally everything. Homework is also graded very strictly. Good class but really hard grade.

A LOT of work. This professor is obviously very smart and has a passion for stats. But he is very bad at conveying the information (particularly if you arent very good at math). He is willing to answer questions if you go to his office hours but he kinda makes you feel stupid if you dont understand after that.

He's very hard and gives ALOT of work. He's not very approachable and a little cranky but if you NEED help then he will help you. Take him if stat is in your major or if you are interested in it.

Professor requires a lot of work, and tests are difficult. That said, he knows is stuff, clearly passionate about stats, and is always willing to clarify problems. Focus is on real world application of stats. Ask questions, and you will do fine.

Good professor, enjoys teaching stats and is clear. Approachable, willing to explain concepts as many times as necesary. A good amount of hw, but he goes over specific problems in class the class before they're due (if you ask him to.) Really good textbook.

Hard class, but you learn soo much. He makes you want to come to class, but is also very helpful at office hours. There are 3 tests, 5 projects, a final, and a total of about 50 homework problems over the semester. Attendance optional. Take this class if you really want to get into Statistics more!

God's gift to statistics students. His Data Analysis class is challenging but rewarding. He manages to create assignments that really help you learn but aren't overwhelming. Fantastic teacher. The other stats class I took was horrendous.
