There are alot of lectures that you need to pay attention or you will struggle through the course. He is a bit boring and monotone at times but tries to be funny sometimes. All homework is online and you can turn the homework in late with no penalty and if you get 75% on the online homework he counts it as 100%. Labs are straightforward

The way Kopitzke explained things never stuck in my head and I spent a lot of time at the tutor trying to relearn things I didn't understand. 3 exams and the final is work 65% of your grade so you have to do well on the tests which can be really hard. He rounds up final grades so a high 70 will get you a B. Was told its harder that CHEM 210.

He's a really nice guy, but a hard professor. OCHEM is hard, and he makes it pretty enjoyable with his lectures, but exams are hard and he doesn't curve. Study hard for this class

Exams are difficult and worth 45% of your grade. He is a nice guy, but he makes it difficult to do well in the class. You get 100% on the homework if you do all of it, so that helps. He went much faster than the other Chem 212 classes and was the only professor that didn't allow notecards on exams.

This class we had 5 tests including the final. A downside I had about this class is that the multiple choice questions were worth 4 points each, so getting 2 wrong can affect your letter grade on the test. He also doesn't allow note cards, which many others will. Labs usually don't last 3 -hours and are very straight forward. Decent Professor.

One of the best! Actually cares about your schedule and is an understanding guy. Class itself is difficult but he makes it interesting. He can be hard to approach but likes making small jokes during lecture. 4 exams and each around 80 points. No curves. Average for first exam was around 60%, so study early. Concepts build. Great guy overall!

A good guy. Nothing to complain about. Just go to him for help if you are struggling. Maybe a little slow on grading but nothing to avoid him for.

OCHEM is hard on its own, but this guy taught us pretty well, with the time he had. It's so much content & you move extremely fast. He's nice and willing to help you. Tests are extremely difficult & he does not curve. The average on one test was 50% (out of about 60 students) & he didn't curve. Use drop-in tutoring in the SLC Terrace, it helps.

He teaches very quickly and isn't the most approachable person for questions. A nice guy but can be intimidating. The lab is very straightforward, I always knew what I was doing.

Dr. Kopitzke is a great and funny person, and his classes are far from easy. Unlike most Chem professors he DOES NOT allow any note sheets on his exams. His reasoning for that is his final exam is a standardized A.C.S. exam (which is exceptionally hard). I personally would avoid him but its not the end of the world if you end up having him.

Dr. Kopitzke is a solid choice for a professor. The class is mainly graded on exams which are straight forward and even easier than the homework. His lectures are productive and he makes it easy to understand the material. He even takes the time to see if everyone is understanding. He even has a great personality! Overall, I highly recommend him.

Dr. K is a great guy and it was fun to learn chemistry from him. He made lectures and lab fun and was easy to talk to about questions. Tests are tough because half of the questions are multiple choice on tricky problems not necessarily covered in class/homework so its 'all or nothing credit'. Overall I would recommend Dr. K but make sure you study!

This class was not bad, I took it because it covered a Goal 3 and 10 credit. He tells you what's going to be on the weekly quizzes and the material is generally easy to understand. This was his first time though teaching a lower level course so sometimes he would expect us to know more than we did. Overall, not bad would recommend for a general!

I took o-chem survey during the summer. It was only five weeks long and spent 5+ hours a day in class and studying. 2 labs and 3 lectures/week. It was a lot of hard work but completely doable. He is intimidating but nice and willing to help. I highly recommend him.

Very personable. Lectures well. Moves at a fast pace, but doesn't have unrealistic expectations. This class is HARD, and you have to be willing to work hard. He is helpful in office hours and a prompt grader. If you put in the time, you can do well.
