Professor Kraut is the best this University has to offer. He cares about the material and his students, and gives incredibly funny and educational lectures. He often devotes most of his class to answering student questions about the readings. His tests are fairly difficult. His papers were graded generously by the TA in this course.

Professor Kraut is easily one of the best teachers at ohio state, and I mean that sincerely. He will engage you like no other and get you wrapped up in the material. One of the funniest guys ever. However, with all this greatness comes his difficulty: he is somewhat moody will sometimes just get angry. If you can look past this, he's among the best

One of the best professors I've had in my college career. He's genuinely interested in engaging his students and getting you into the material. Hilarious, too. You have to work for your grade, but he's fair. Highly recommended.

Prof. Kraut is an amazing guy with fun stories and wild tendencies. His class is very interesting, the material is compelling, but it's all near ruined by three surprisingly difficult multiple choice tests and a harshly graded paper. As someone who feels the understood/engaged with all the material quite well, my grades did not reflect this.

Kraut is very obviously one of the most engaged professors at the university. He cares about all his material and each of his students. He's also incredibly smart and well-educated. His expertise in various fields is constantly surprising.

Professor Kraut is both knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He has no rigid lectures but adjusts to class flow and interest. I took this class only as LSAT prep, but it was such an experience that had I taken it earlier, I would have switched to a Phil mjaor. TIP: mention music theory or cats to illustrate class concepts - he'll love it.

On my way to a PH.D (not in philosophy) I had Kraut as an undergrad. He is not only an amazing lecturer, but he is movie-star good. This guy should be at Oxford or Princeton, based on his pedagogical wizardry. A Kraut class is a strange yet highly informative experience that will change your life! Kind of like a Cohen brother's movie on acid.

Kraut is funny, but not a great teacher. He's entertaining to listen to, but the stuff he talks about in class seems irrelavant on the exams. All I can say is READ. It's the only way to really understand what each philosopher is saying.

Kraut's metaphysics class is perhaps the most entertaining, engaging class I have ever had, though it is extraordinarily taxing. Kraut is an engaging, helpful teacher and discussion leader and always willing to go above and beyond to help students.

Kraut is an intelligent man and a brilliant philosopher but a poor teacher that not interested in his students. He did not come to class prepared and covered it up with youtube videos and irrelevant philosophical rants. The material was difficult but he gave little help. I recieved a B in the class but I feel as though I have learned nothing.

Kraut is great. His class was always fun, and if you participate and say something halfway intelligent, you quickly become a favorite. This class is not for the meek or the shy. If you are willing to fight for your point, either with him or another student, he loves it.

Kraut is an intellect, and a flim flam man who reinvents himself. Biggest coup was as a record engineer who made 60s hit, "Red Rubber Ball," by "The Cyrkle." Kraut would invoke the "spectre of Hendrix" in fervid tones. Now, he's a jazzer. I participated, and got an A-. 9 months later, he did not know me, and refused me a letter of recommendation.

He seems unorganized but really does have a good handle on epistemological issues. If you want to think about philosophy in a way that is relative to your life then you'll love Kraut. He is willing to work with you outside of class to make sure you understand. I thought he was a great teacher because I learned a lot from taking his class.
