Very funny, very entertaining professor but his class is tough! Your ENTIRE grade is based on 3 tests...thats it. Do "not so good" on one test (like the 1st which is always difficult to predict in any class), and there goes your A (or whatever grade u wanted to get). Great professor, but grading system is messed up.

He makes the material fun and interesting. I always look forward to his class. No homework, no book, no powerpoint. Just your own notes based off his lectures and 3 tests. Not that easy of a class, but it is definately worth your while.

I learned more in this class than any other psyc class. He doesn't waste your time with boring power points (like most psyc teachers), you just come to class, listen and take notes. He's funny too, if I could take the class again I would. He made it very interesting.

An amazing teacher, plus he is hilarious. A very interesting class if you have an interest in psychology. Do not buy the book, you will never use it. All material on the tests comes from lectures. He doesn't use powerpoint, so you can't print off his notes. Study lecture notes and doing well in the class will be easy.

Jim is hilarious! he has a very dry sense of humor that i love! he comes off this this grumpy attitude, but really he's a nice guy. he is always asking to see if we have questions and to make sure that we understand the material. He tells you upfront 100% of his exam questions are from lecture. i returned my book the second day of class!

Sometimes I didnt want class to end he was so cool. My notes are filled with random hilarious quotes from him. He is the head of the Grad department of psych and that is why I consider going to NIU for grad school. Hands down the best.

Corwin is easily the best professor I've had at NIU. His sense of humor and passion for the topic is evident in every single lecture. Total of 3 tests--prepare to study hard for them!! This is the single biggest challenge as there is a lot of material covered. Makes learning about the brain fascinating and easy to understand.

HE IS THE COOLEST TEACHER EVER! the man is so funny with a dark sense of humor. he makes learning about the brain very interesting. make sure to go to class and take good notes cause 100% of the test comes from the notes. he said on the first day we wouldn't even have to buy the book. also he likes to bring brains into class :)

I took Intro to Brain and Behavior as one of my first classes into my psych major. The first day he walked in with a bucket and pulled a human brain out for everyone to see. What a way to start the course! He was an excellent teacher and I throughly enjoyed his class.

Professor Corwin is one of the best PSYC professors at NIU. Intro to the brain sounds extremely difficult and boring, but he made it interesting and fun. The class was at 10am, and I hardly ever missed a class. PLUS his is really funny!!!!

Corwin rocks!! He pretty much tells you to not buy the book. His lectures are great, & he stresses exactly what you need to know for exams. He gives wonderful examples, & is great at clarifying difficult concepts. On top of it all he makes a seemingly boring, difficult class an enjoyable time. I wish he taught more undergrad psych classes.

This was by far the best psychology class that I have taken at NIU. I wish that Corwin could teach all of my psyc. classes. There is a lot of material to be heard in this class but he makes it interesting and emphasizes what is important when it comes to test material. Don't buy the book, he doesn't use it...at all, just go to class and enjoy!

As everyone has said, AMAZING teacher; rarity among psych teachers.Difficult material, but go to class, take notes, and you'll do well.He is freaking hilarious and makes difficult things easier to understand.Never treats you like you're stupid if you have a question.All-around great guy/teacher/topic.Still remember stuff semesters later.
