Amazing prof. I liked to ask really nit-picky questions, and he always took the time to think about it and discuss them with me after class. He pointed out subtleties about the language that kept me interested, and covered very useful material in general. Extremely friendly.

He is a super nice guy, and very dedicated to his students. I suggest that everyone talk to him after class because he is very patient, and truly wants to help! and he has probably the best francophone accent i've heard from an anglophone.

The BEST and NICEST professor EVER! SO helpful! I just came back from an end of the term party, where he held an extra class (after the exam), and gave us juice/cookies! About half of the class came because he is THAT sincere, and genuinely interested in the success of his students. The class had a great atmosphere

The best professor by far! This man is so genuinely kind, helpful, and understanding! He is funny, and simply put - precious. I cannot wait to take more classes that he teaches! He has transformed me from a student studying French, to a French student. Amazing! Restored my faith in learning the language!

Of the six French professors I had while at Waterloo, he was the best. Professor Ryan is an absolutely brilliant man, but you will not see an ounce of arrogance. He is funny, personable, fair-minded and genuinely vested in the success of his students.
