A really nice, well informed, professor. I had an issue come up mid semester and prof Sackett was willing to work with me to find a solution. He genuinely cares about students and growing their knowledge. I would definitely recommend him.

Very nice guy, learned a lot in his class but the reading is a book a week and mostly discussion. Hard grader. Still would recommend, but take his German history classes. That's really where you'll learn some amazing facts

He assigns a good deal of reading, but his lectures are great and interesting and he genuinely cares about his students and gets to know everybody. The feedback he gives on drafts will greatly improve your papers. If you're a history major or just someone who needs a history course, take Sackett!!

Took HIST 3000 as an intensive course so I'm sure the assignments were not like the usual semester. Long days with a very sad subject (Nazi's & Jew's), but he made it interesting and heart felt. Would take him again.

Phenomenal teacher! Had him for my senior thesis class, WWI, and a holocaust studies class. I learned so much from his classes. Dr. Sackett is incredibly smart and super helpful. Go to class and do your work and you will pass.

Took this class as an Winter break course so 9 straight days. Very enjoyable and learned a tremendous amount in the class. Quite a bit of reading but in an intense class it's expected.

This class was taught by Professors Sackett and Hill. I really enjoyed this class. Both professors were very helpful and understanding. The class was very reading incentive but they choose interesting books.

This was a two week intensive class and that aspect alone probably made it easy for me. The reading was minimal and no homework. This class used discussion as a tool of measurement, so be prepared to speak up!

Good teacher. He made us watch some extremely boring movies though. Love his voice. I kind of which I had a Sackett book on tape.

The only thing he ever publishes is book reviews, which is NOT history. I cannot find any historical papers he's published in the past two decades. Does UCCS know about this?

He really enjoyed teaching the pieces chosen for the class. He found pure enjoyment in it, and it was obvious. The class splits into two classes halfway through....I was in his section to begin with, and he was a tougher grader than Ross, however I would not have been upset to stay in his section and continue to listen to him revel in travel.

Not a particularly tough professuer at all. He has the ability to teach controversial topics and keep control of the class and where it goes. He represents standards that are all-to-forgotten among young college students today. That is why he is considered tough. A little attention goes a long way!

I've taken several classes from him, and have loved them all. You MUST do the reading, but he's really a master at leading discussion, and looking at difficult subjects in depth. Especially loved the history/film studies between fall and spring semester. Very knowledgeable, helpful, and understanding.

Good man who has a passion for history, his strong suit being German History as he relates a lot of things to Nazi Germany. He gives all the help you need if you ask for it, and if he doesn't know an answer he will find it for you. Great teacher.

I've had Dr. Sackett for many classes in both traditional and non-traditional styles. He is one of the best professors I've ever had- and I've had many. I am VERY satisfied with my experience in the UCCS History department, and he is one of the main reasons why. The only additional thing I can say about AND to him if he ever views this is THANKS!
