Let's be honest, Phys Chem is definitely not the easiest class in the world. Reading the textbook, doing problem sets, and attending tutorial sessions are mandatory for a good mark. He outlines the material needed for midterms well enough, although it's a fight against the clock. His lectures are pretty good, and overall he's a solid guy

How to pass: 1. Buy the textbook + Solns manual 2. Do the homework with the solns manual 3, Pay for the SOS sessions because they give you some (not all) of the test questions 4. Go to class. Course is painful and bloated, but he's very approachable for help. Don't wait til the night before, you will fail.

The actual class is difficult, his final especially is KILLER. Lots of material. however hes a VERY good professor. Explains things very well and clearly and is willing to help students as much as he can. SO make sure you do the practice problems, go to the tutorial sessions and listen to what he says may be on the tests.

Whether you do extremely well or fail hard, which I've done both, you will learn much about yourself in the process. Tough exterior but surprisingly very personable and helpful.

Such an incredibly hard class! Why does a Biochemistry major require Physical Chemistry!? Ridiculous. Class is impossible to pass. The lecture notes are completely irrelevant to exam questions, same with the lab material. If you do not have to take this class, I'd recommend you do not.

Explains material very well. He is a very nice guy and very willing to help students with questions. Every class he teaches is easy as long as you do the homework problems (he isn't joking. you do the problems and your golden)

phys chem=hard!!make sure to do all problems he assigns and go to class!read the textbook!he explains as if you already know this stuff and as if it's common sense-it's not. he speeds through lectures so pay close attention. On a brighter note, he's approachable for help and shows a lot of applications of what he's talking about

This class was VERY difficult. To get a good mark, you have to PRACTICE a lot! The lectures were hard to understand because the material was so complex. Dr. Schurko covered a lot of material in a short amount of time. On a positive note, Dr. Schurko was helpful: he had one-to-one study sessions at his office before every midterm and exam.

Decent teacher. He had a short Simpsons clip one class, so he can't be all bad. Can't say if he's hard or if I'm just not great at Phys Chem, but the tests were a bit hard, but his final was very fair.
