robert is really..interesting, in a good way. not in the way where you get a present from a friend which you secretly hate and you tell them its interesting to spare their feelings. I enjoy his class, he's like an old rebel hippie. He raps at one point and tells us about his freudian fantasies as a child. his class is mostly philosophical.take him!

Selinske has some crazy stories, makes you wonder why he's teaching at De Anza. He is really laid back and accepts work a day or two late. If you do turn in work late, he won't tell you what do do differently. His feedback made me a better writer, learned a lot from him. Perfect for people who like to think critically. Highly recommended.

He's socially awkward. The reader has very little to do with the class. Sitting in tiny wooden chairs watching Shakespeare for six weeks was really uncomfortable. We watched the plays and didn't have to read them. Less than mediocre class.

Robert is a great teacher. He has a lot of information to share and makes the class enjoyable. After being in his class I will never look at movies the same. His insight is amazing as he reads between the lines and shows the hidden meaning in many of the movies. I had a great time.

Enjoyed seeing movie classics I've never seen before and discussing them; the class is worth showing up for. It is an easy class and like the person said below showing up is not a must but you can miss out if you don't. Interesting views and discussion. Try books on tape from your local library to help with getting through books faster.

VERY easy grader. u watch a lot of movies & discuss, so u dont even have to come to class unless something is due. u can go thru this class with cliffsnotes or sparknotes, because he asks ONE question on his quizzes after a book is assigned. this class is a VERY EASY A. all you have to do is the simple work, which he just skims thru.

Selinske knows a lot about many different subjects. He tends to name drop, but he tells interesting stories. He's really busy though, and doesn't "do" e-mail or meet with you outside of class. The work is fair and his grading is lenient. If you like films and can put up with his snide and/or funny attitude, you can enjoy this class.
