His classes will teach you to be a better writer, student, and woman. The materials are very comprehensive and extremely interestings. classes are hard because he has high expectation but you will come out confident and competent. btw, how could he's not getting a chili yet? :) he's very considerate and kind-hearted. Go to his office hours!

Very sweet, thoughtful, and wants to see his students succeed! Show up for class, listen, make interesting comments, and he will like you just fine. Sometimes a little dry in his lectures, but I still really enjoyed the class.

Like others said, intimidating as hell. You may go into this class thinking you are a good writer (this course has no tests, it is completely based on papers) but he is a harsh grader and getting an A is nearly impossible. Interesting class but somewhat discouraging and very stressful if you want get above a B.

Shilk is one of the kindest & thoughtful profs I know! He always offers to meet w/ students outside of class 2 check in or get extra assistance - he wants so badly for everyone to do well and enjoy Psych. He has a kind heart & makes me look forward to going to class...even tho it's at 8:30am! Get to know him well and you'll see he's a decent person

Prof Shilkret is one of the warmest, kindest and most thoughtful professors I know - especially when you take time to meet with him individually outside of class! He wants so much for everyone to do well & he makes a conscious effort to work with u to make that happen :) He makes me look forward to going to class even at the ungodly hour of 8:30!

Prof Shilket is by far the most unispiring and boring professor I have had at Mount Holyoke. He had absolutely no charisma. He seems like he would be easy. But in fact he asks random and insignificat questions on the exams. He is defensive/unhelpful.
