Comment:

Amazing professor, has an awesome attitude and if you pay attention you will do great in the class. You mostly read plays, which are all found online, and even if you don't read you will be more then ok for the class. It is based mostly on short papers. He is always open for office hours and is really easy to talk to. I would recommend to a friend.

Comment:

Dr. Smart is one of the most genuine professors I have taken throughout my 4 years at QU. Really enthusiastic and passionate about what he teaches and it shines through in his lectures. The class is pretty much taught by 3 small groups where powerpoint "projects" are due almost every class, but they're simple, and he is lenient on them.

Seriously the most inspiring and hilarious professor I've ever had. He's so intelligent and manages to make Shakespeare interesting. Incredibly helpful in helping you write your essays, gives feedback, and extends deadlines if necessary. My whole class had a great time discussing with him. TAKE TAKE TAKE TAKE

Amazing teacher. Truly one of the best i've ever had. He's so smart but very accessible and not stuffy at all. Lectures are entertaining and fascinating. Take him no matter what the class is. There's not many teachers like him out there.

Such a great professor! I have very little interest in English, but Smart made this class so interesting that it became my favorite class. He assigns a lot of reading, but there were only 3 short papers and a lot of in class discussion. He is so helpful and is really funny on top of it... highly recommend for any major!!

Professor Smart was a decent professor. I hated QU101 just because it was actually just as intense as my English class. I had to write a 10 page Obama paper that was all BS. The class is easy and he is a great professor...he could be very liberal at times but whatever. Take if you can. Recommend.

Prof. Smart is such a good teacher. He knows what he's talking about and will put the readings in words that you will certainly understand. Can go to him anytime and will help you. Very animated, interesting, and amusing. A bit of work -- but just keep up. Not extremely hard. Definately take his class if you have a chance.

Best professor EVER!! I am not an English major but he makes you actually want to go, he is sooo nice and funny. He is a very laid back guy, but you have to work very hard on your papers...he always there to help. Take him! He always brings candy or cookies or something to class. You will learn a lot.
