Comment:

He was the best organized, and that is what makes a professor easier to work with. He also could be sarcastic. On the whole he gave us a sense that History was important. Outside Queen's there is a sense he did not get his interpretation of History right, but for us undergraduates he was a good introduction.

The best prof I had at Queen's BY FAR. He is a legend for a reason! At his last lecture ever (he retired after my first year) students cried and all 200+ of us in HIST 122 gave him a thunderous standing ovation. As a person he was incredibly unstanding, going out of his way to talk to me in Stauffer numerous times. My PH.D is b/c of this man!

There is no prof like Malcolmson. The whole history community at queen's misses him. a great loss for future history students who will only be able to hear of this professorial legend. if all hist profs were like this perhaps we'd know more of our past. sorry you won't get him now that he's retire

I had him back in 1990-he is one of the best profs. I have ever had-Now that I am a prof. myself I use his techniques (words on the board-60 second breaks) as part of my teaching methods.
