This class was incredibly difficult, but that's because I had little theory coming into this class. If you know your stuff this is the prof for you! He really tests your abilities. He's really smart, so much so I had a hard time following his explanations a lot of the time. He's a nice guy though!

I was a bit wary of his class at the beginning, since he teaches the more advanced Theory class, but I didn't need to be. I've learned so much in his class that I didn't get in high school. He'll put you on the spot in class sometimes, but only if he knows you need help with something. If you're a music major, take something with him at some point!

Dr. Washut is the BEST PROFESSOR AT UNI! HANDS DOWN! I don't care if you are a music major or not--YOU WILL LOVE HIM! He is SO FUNNY and SO INTELLIGENT! Many are intimidated at first, but that will go away once you work hard and earn your respect.

BW manages to teach in a poignant and informative manner and at the same time take everything in stride. He's a laid back guy that truly wants to see his students succeed; in this regard he's a tough professor. He's so helpful, however, that I've never felt overwhelmed in his class. And let's not forget that his picture on here is cooler than cool.

One word: AMAZING!! this prof really know what he's talking aobut. He's clear on his expectations, and although they are held high, you learn so much with him. Take him for theory, aural training and sight singing if you can. he's a wondeful musician and an excellant jazzer!

The best professor I have ever had. Extremely knowledgable and clear. I've taken a few classes with him, and they've all been excellent. He pushes his students to work hard though, so if you're not up for the challenge, don't take the class. Otherwise, I highly, highly recommend anyone who is serious about music to take a class with him.

A musician genius! Just make sure you know your stuff or your grade might suffer. He is a fair grader though. He can be pretty funny at times and can relate music to just about anything. I recommend for those who want to learn a lot and don't mind difficulty.
