Pretty good. Explains the topic (which is an overall difficult topic for most NIU CS majors - don't ask me why) as well as possible. Very enthusiastic, ask him about the stamp he has of his face :D

Learned a lot about C# and .NET in his class, despite problems at the beginning of the semester with an uncooperative Windows Server. I would recommend this class to anyone wanting to get their feet wet with C#.

Taught Assembler well, and obviously knew what he was talking about. He is encouraging about getting help, lenient on due dates, but got stuck with a bad T.A. this semester (not his fault) which is the only reason I didn't enjoy the class. Tests and Quizzes are difficult, but not a battlefield.

I feel like I could write real-world apps in .NET after taking his class. Fantastic lecturer. My complaints are his test were sometimes ridiculous and he was too lenient with some assignments. I worked my butt off to get some assignments done on time and then he pushes it back! Have a backbone, punish the people who don't do the work on time.

He is the BEST. I did not expect to learn .NET so easily. He doesnt get tired. Every sem changes assignments, updates himself with latest stuff and teaches them, answers question emails even on weekends, thanks giving break or nights. He and takes it to students in a friendly way. He never says "the assignment is due ..." but asks us "is it dueable

I was impressed! He really knows JCL and COBOL. He takes it out on us by making is know our way around as much as he does, tests had many memoriz. Qs. Harder than avg, comprable diffcty to RR. Extremely helpful, answers COBOL e-mail Qs at 9PM on school nights! Puts too much repetition of col. headers in PGMs, we know how to do those already. B+.

Dr. Z, is my favorite teacher by far. He takes a hard subject like VSAM and makes it seem as easy as 2+2. He is truly one of the best that NIU has to offer. Do yourself a favor and take one of his classes. You won't regret it.
