If you want an easy class, take him. If you want to learn Spanish & are moving up, take another Professor. He's a nice guy, but just gave us the book to do exercises with our classmates with very little guidance. Taking Spanish II and am very nervous, felt like I barely learned anything. Had to rely on outside sources to start learning.

Madero is a little bit wacky. His classes can be amusing because he's a funny guy and his lisp takes getting used to. Be sure to take good notes! All he cares about is that you can reiterate, in essay format, what he lectured about in class. His grading is unpredictable, but as long as you can regurgitate class content on the tests, you'll be fine.

He's a great guy and can be quite funny, which is always great. However, he treats the course like it's an honors course and moves way too fast. If you had Spanish before, you'll be fine. If you've never taken Spanish before (like me) you will struggle.

Prof. Madero is a pretty good teacher. At times it is easy to get lost in his class, because he moves at a relatively fast paced. Nevertheless, he is helpful and easy to approach. In class he is a pretty funny dude, prepare to hear some f-bombs. If I had to take a spanish class again, I would take him.

Overall, Madero is a very knowledgeable professor of Spanish-American history and literature. All exams are essay format based strictly on his lectures - so take GREAT notes. He also gives an oral quiz on every work every period and gives F's to those who cannot answer when called upon, so you better read! Not an easy professor at all.

Madero is the man hes really laid back and cool. If you've taken spanish take him for sure, but if not do not take him. he does not teach at all just goes through the textbook. Gives no homework at all and takes forever to grade tests. 50% of grade is participation which is just showing up for class.

if u will be 1 and done with spanish, then take him. he is easy and a nice guy. but he doesn't teach. you basically go through the book by yourself. so if you want to go on to spanish 2 and 3 and become fluent, do not take him. i dropped spanish 2 cause after getting a B+ in Spanish 1, i couldnt keep up with spanish 2. easy but wont learn a thing

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. I didnt have him for any classes except for spanish I but that class was the worst. he never taught. u basically buy a book annd teach urself the whole semester. i could have bought the book and did everything we did in class @ home except for the fact that he wont let u miss more than 3 classes!

Dr. Madero is awesome. A heads up about his classes: his tests are all based on what he talks about in class; not anything that you can research in the text or online. It's a good idea to buy a hand-held recorder because hee talks VERY fast at times, sometimes too fast to keep up when taking notes.

I had Dr. Madero for both Civ. & Cult. and Span-Amer Lit. 2 this past semester. He is an excellent teacher! His tests in both classes were based on class notes, so take good notes!! Also, if you are not fluent in Spanish (like me) you may find his classes challenging. But don't sweat it. Dr. Madero is very helpful and will explain things to you.
