Worst professor ever. Her class power points never help, since most of them are blank. Usually professor who teach master students give B or B- as minimum grade for students to pass, but she is the one will give C.

This professor is hard core. She takes no prisoners. You can't just read the chapters, but you have to thoroughly understand the concepts. Her grading is strict, but her lectures are engaging. Overall, she's pretty good. This is definitely the hardest class in the program, but it's the one I learned the most from.

Advise reading the textbook or at least doing the problems, which is not mandatory. Gives homework, but not too much and likes pop quizzes. The good thing about the pop quizzes is often you get to work with peers. Two midterms and one final, which are all open book which helps. Did poorly on graded homework, but passed both midterms and did well.

. She is a terrible teacher and is extremely vague. Do NOT try to ask questions because she will make you seem stupid. 80% of the class is literally failing. RUN NOW. She is awful. There are several quizzes and you will not be told in advance. You must read the chapter in advance so that you can do well in the quizzes. Participation matters. Two midterms and one final. Exams are not difficult if you prepare well. She organized the materials badly so you have to learn by yourself. You must have a textbook for open-book exams.

She is great. It is interesting to listen to her lectures on intermediate accounting 2. She clarifies hard topics. She teaches analytical skills and how to interpret financial statements. Recommended.

Excellent class, awesome professor -- very knowledgeable and helpful. The class was challenging, but rewarding. The key: review the lecture material before class, complete the recommended (non-graded) problems in the book (listed in the syllabus), attend every class. It is Accounting... you have to keep up with the work to do well!

She is a nice person and a competent professor. She is very clear about what she wants and makes sure that everybody gets it from the beginning of the semester. If you are looking for a class that just teaches you journal entries and a professor who asks you to memorize account names, then there is no way that you'll like her.

The teacher is very boring. She doesn't know what she is talking and we don't know too. In the class I learned nothing. I have never meet a teacher as unqualified as her. Also, her presentation is confusing and her voice is very low. she uses yellow characters on ppt so nobody could see . Nobody in the class likes her, can't tolerate her anymore.

This class was great. She is an intelligent and helpful individual. Classes were never boring. Exams are open book open note, but if you don't attend class you're screwed. Go to class, follow along in the book, do the practice problems, ask questions, and you'll get an A. She makes the course challenging but manageable.

I'm so shocked at all the comments here about Prof. Tarpley. I loved her! She was so knowledgeable and an amazing professor. I always went to office hours and created a great rapport with her. The class is difficult but I learned so much and recommend this class to everyone. She has a sassiness and edge to her that I like and identify with.

Avoid Tarpley if you can. I can't believe that Tarpley is the department chair. She doesn't appear to enjoy teaching. Lectures are scattered and confusing. She uses her own examples which are less clear than those found in the book. She seems annoyed when students ask questions in class. DOES NOT RESPOND TO EMAIL...DON'T EVEN TRY.
