Has to be one of the worst professors I have ever been taught by. Lectures don't even really seem particularly relevant for a principles course. His teachings are to advanced. Tests are hard.

Great professor. Laugh at his jokes, pay attention in class, and ask if you don't understand what he's talking about. He teaches from an Austrian perspective, as opposed to a Keynesian or neoclassical or Fisherian approach to economics, so you'll pick up on a lot of great stuff other professors are totally oblivious to.

Took for History of Thought. Interesting enough course, though the exams were pretty hard. Lectures are dry, but follows the book pretty closely. Course doesn't use a lot of "real" economics, talks about economists, their backgrounds, some about their theories. Kinda meh overall, not terrible for an elective.

My kind of class because I am a test taker and not a homework-doer/paper-writer/class-participator. Everything on his tests comes from his notes or the assigned readings, which are not long or difficult to comprehend. Reasonable class.

I have learned so much from this class. He makes economics make sense. I can understand how he is very difficult as a Principles professor, but that's just because he's brilliant and students are in it just for a good grade. The class is not easy, but you will learn so much. If you are an ECON major, take him!

Really easy class. I made over 100 on the first 2 tests. I didn't really study on the last one and still made some sort of B. He gives back all his tests so just find the old ones. I didn't go to class but 4 times total and made a high A. Read his slides and practice old tests.

Awful teacher. I don't know where hes getting his test information from. I read the book, read his supplemental readings, and read his powerpoints and made a 60 (thanks to a 20 point kicker) on his first test. 2nd test wasn't much better. I could have had all that with me and still failed the final... I have a 3.6 GPA! Do NOT take him if possible!

Garrison is a marcro genius in a bad way he teaches on a level way above any intro class is going to understand. If you can help it don't take the class. He's very nice but he just can't convey what he wants you to know to you. If you HAVE to take the class don't ever skip class, take notes like a fiend and maybe you'll escape with a B...maybe

first test got a 20 point scale (didnt really matter), second test got a 10 point scale. lord knows how many points he will have to scale for the final. point is his tests are too hard for the material at hand. if he made the tests reasonable or somewhat relevant to the material i would enjoy the class a lot more. please retire

material is very interesting however the exams are near impossible. each question has at least 4 sentences in it and makes nearly no sense. Im an accounting major with a 3.2 and i am asking for a C in this class. take someone else if you wish to improve/keep your gpa

He is a nice guy and a genius at macro but doesnt know how to teach it to the undergrad business student. He could be a macro grad prof from how much he expects his students to know. His exams are RIDICULOUSLY HARD. Final is cumulative. His material does not even halfway prepare you for his exams. Needs to implement a study guide.

Do not take this class! It is impossible! Nothing he says is in the book and his tests are very very hard. The final is cumulative but is only 33 questions. He needs to realize his tests are too hard if he has to curve it over 10 points to make the class average a 73. He needs to retire!

Boring and awful teacher! I just stopped going to class. Taught myself and passed. If you want more than just a passing grade you might want to go to class. Regardless, print out the powerpoints, read all the random articles he gives and do the practice test.

Teaches the material well and repeats himself a lot. Don't buy the book. Everything you need for the class is online. The tests are tough, but he curves them a lot (over a letter grade). I had a 68 test average and ended up with a B in the class. I recommend taking his class for Macro.

I went to class and did well on test and got a hight B. I knew everything well, managed to do horrible on test and with all the kicker points got a B. I dont understand why he makes test so hard and gives away 15 kicker points everytime. Try hard, get old test and you'll get a B. Only 10% of the class got A's and 15% got B's.
