I like Roma BUT she is a really tough marker. When writing any essay or short answer test, she's looking for word-for-word her definitions. I would recommend memorizing definitions for her class. She likes things done a certain way.

Roma is not here for students. In fact she seems as though she despises some of her students especially a select few she constantly puts down. Her class was the only place I did not feel supported and constantly had anxiety for. I would not recommend taking her course if you want a healthy education experience.

This prof is not here to support her students. Degrading when speaking to students. Extremely repetitive lectures and overall makes students feel uncomfortable. Her passion is evident, however it is extremely hypocritical on her behalf. How can you preach inclusion and fair treatment when you treat students in extremely unjust ways? Hypocritical.

Roma is extremely passionate about language development and you can definitely see it through her lectures. She always uses real life examples and funny stories to make the material easier to understand. She is quite strict. Weekly quizzes (10 true/false very easy) they really help you stay on track. 1 assignment. midterm and final exam

Comment:

Roma is known for not being an easy professor. However, if you do your part that doesn't mean she's hard either. She assigns weekly questions and has weekly quizzes for them which are just true/false questions. Her midterms and finals are fairly graded and all questions are mentioned during lectures. She is very knowledgeable!

She's awful. If you have special needs of any sort-don't expect help. She will call you out if you are on your phone. nolaptops allowed. Once a girl fell asleep in her lectures and got publicluy shamed. If you get on her bad side your doomed. She tenured so you're really screwedif she doesn't like you. She hates me. Don't take her class.

I loved Roma as a prof. She's hilarious and always has good stories to tell. Her passion for linguistics shows through her work and how engaging she is in lectures. Quizzes every week on the readings may not sound attractive but it helps you be in the loop.

Roma was an amazing prof this semester. She has a wonderful heart and has the best interest of her students in mind. Yes, it is a hard course, but as long as you pay attention in class and go over her SHOUTS ( which are extremely nice of her to make), you will do fine in the class. Wonderful prof and class, I look forward to taking her class again

Roma was a great prof - one of my favourites. She was very helpful, clear, and interesting. She made the driest topics sound interesting and she also used examples that she continued using throughout the sem. Do your readings and attend classes and you will be fine.

Roma was an amazing prof! The best that I've had so far. At first, her course may seem overwhelming.But I learned so much in this one class than I did in the entire semester. She was very clear on all the material. Her exams and quizzes are not difficult if you attend her class and do the readings. She is very fair.

An amazing professor whose lectures are very engaging, interesting, and I found entertaining. Going to take one of her courses again, just because its her. Roma is an amazing and interesting teacher. She is very passionate about language and inspires her students to really learn the course content in a practical manner. Her tests are difficult, but fair and accurately measure your knowledge on the subject.
