Do not let the Professor's laid back approach fool you - he fully expects you to pay attention, do the readings, and listen to the music, critically! He will call on you in class, and you can't just 'fluff' him off. One mid-term, one term paper, and required concert attendance and review. Highly recommended if you love music of all kinds!

Very nice and sweet man. He goes through the material slowly and is cognizant that not everyone has musical experience. I did have several years of experience, but I didn't find the material to be anything more than memorization. Very forgiving and will work with you if you struggle because all he cares about is that you walk away loving music.

Easiest & Nicest professor ever! No final & no textbook! Theres a midterm, but its take home. He NEVER keeps you later than 2 hours. Very understanding. I really enjoyed this class. For most of the class, he just plays music and asks for feedback. Very laid back and easy professor and class!

Cutest old man ever! Doesnt keep you longer than an hour and 45 min, which is amazing for a 3 hour class. Assigns hw due each class but its not hard. Take home midterm, concert evaluation and a final term paper. Not a bad class to take for core. Definitely TAKE HIM!

This class is so easy. He always lets you out after two hours, which is nice. The class itself is boring but not difficult. One paper, one critique on a concert, and a take home midterm. It is super easy I would recommend this class to anyone who can put in a little bit of effort

Very nice man, but very boring class. Although it is boring, he lets you out at least an hour early every class. There is one research paper (40% of grade), midterm-take home (30%), attendance/participation (20%), & one concert evaluation (10%), he also offers extra credit... Take this class if you want an EASY A. Oh and NO FINAL!! :)

i've taken him for 20th century and baroque era...boring classes that i had to fight to stay awake in...but both were an easy A. take home midterm, and either a final paper or final in class with a cheat sheet. he's a nice guy, but music from the baroque era totally stinks

The class wasn't great, but Professor Armanini was awesome. He is very lenient with absences, he always ends class early, and gives very little work. We only had one take-home midterm and a paper. He asks you to look things up for class and he will call on you, so be prepared. Most of the class is spent watching operas and talking about them. Easy.
