Ron Oakerson is simply the most remarkable person at Houghton College, and probably one of the best political science thinkers in the entire American academic world. He is a jewel basically hidden away at a tiny place like Houghton. He quietly propels his students to excellence. He has contributed an immense amount to us, Houghton, and the world.

Dr. Ronald J. Oakerson is simply the best teacher I have ever encountered. I have learned vast amounts about political philosophy, public policy, and the whole spectrum of political science thanks to him. He is warm, engaging, caring, intelligent, and hard-working. I feel myself learning, and I know I'm a better man for having learned under him.
