Ron Saks is a very good teacher for people with a passion for animation. He is very very good at inspiring and being an inspiration. Although I might not have learned everything technical from Ron, I got another type of very important learning...the passion for something I love and something he obviously loves. He is a very good teacher.

Very helpful in the class. Spends time with your project. Don't expect to learn to animate here he comes form a UCLA style of no-house animation. if you have a problem, buy a book, it's not that hard. Can't learn a simple yet robust compositing program (Usanimation/Opus)? Get out of the major, IT'S NOT FOR YOU. this is 50% tech.No spoonfeeding here

Ron's a great guy, incredibly knowledgable and extremely helpful, though very prone to going off on tangents and talking about pointless things, which seriously detract from his classes.

This guy was the biggest jackass of a "professor" I've ever had. He was more concerned with telling you stories of his experiences than teaching the class. We would often watch videos of his work that were totally NOT RELATED to the current project or class work. He was a bore. He can't communicate well and he plays favorites.

He said it himself .. he's "longwinded." But it's worth living through it because you learn good self motivation plus he has A LOT of connections that can help you. .

Didn't learn much from his classes... they turned out to be more about storyboarding and character design... i had to take it upon myself to learn what the other classes were learning.

I respect Mr. Saks since he is good teacher and helpful with your question, but sometimes he keeps mumbling about something that we don't need to hear. Just make it straight to the point.

Ron spent more time telling us about the 'glory days' of his career, rather than trying to teach us. He urged us to learn an overly complicated program (US Animation) on our own. Whenever he tried to explain, it would just come out as babble. I don't recommend him, as he picks 'favorites'.

Mr. Saks often rambles, and I find myself frustrated that something that could be said well in a half hour often takes three. I feel that he has a lot of knowledge to share, but needs to work on sharing it more effectively. I also feel that it would help if he were a bit more open minded.

A little bit long winded but still an amazing teacher. However, I learned more about story development rather than animation in his classes.

Hot and cold. Extremely forgetful, and offers dated resources. If you have talent, he's an asset. If you lack it, you'll have to work harder for his attention.
