Comment:

He doesn't give a lot of assignments, but the few assignments that are given are worked on for extended periods of time. There is also a lot of group work and peer editing so be prepared to help others and be helped. The class is extremely helpful and I highly recommend it, but be warned... it is very tedious.

Dr. Ron is the best professor I've had at Loyola. You must put the work into it, but if you put in effort you will succeed and learn a lot. He's very personable and really interesting to listen to in class. There is a lot of homework, but if you like to write he'll make you become an amazing writer. Makes you think in a new way.

Ron was an awesome professor. He does assign a lot of work (lengthy stuff almost every night) and he is a pretty tough grader. BUT he is such a cool guy. He teaches you things that really really improve your writing. Participation in class is super important. He calls on people all the time. His feedback on essays is awesome!!

I had him for my Alpha class and I think he is a really great guy! He seems to genuinely care about students and I had ZERO interest in writing before his class, but now I really enjoy it and get good grades on all my papers in other classes. He grades difficultly but if he didn't, why would anyone try?

I agree that Ron is somewhat difficult as a teacher. He is not the most helpful unless you harass him to help you. This is a crucial flaw in his teaching abilities, besides the fact that we do not accomplish much at the end of the semester. It is over with a feeling of emptiness.

Ron doesnt help any students. He is unclear and assigns so much reading and homework I didnt even have time to do work for other classes. When i asked him how i could raise my grade he said it was "very unlikely" that i would do well.2 thumbs

Don't take him, he assigns lots of work, and is both unhelpful and rude to boot. Also, don't fall behind early, cause once the midterm grades come out, according to him, your grade will only go up "when ****s fly"

Ron is the worst teacher, (if you can even call him that) in the history of teaching. All he does is quiz you on stupid information that has no relation to anything. If he's not doing that he's letting someone else teach his class b/c he has no idea how.

Really cool guy, very different but funny. He is a really hard grader, make sure you can write before you take this class. If you cannot write well you will after taking the class. If you can get an A in his class, it's considered "publishable"
