You have to read the books for a short 3 point quiz essay. They are easy, but then you don't have any other assignments, but a reading response and an essay about the books, and an easy group projects. Then you have to make your own children's book. The class is pretty easy, just show up, look at the books on the list and you'll be fine.

Rona is AMAZING. She does assign a lot of reading, and the very occasional quiz which is only worth 3 points. She knows real life issues and relates all class content to these issues. Schedule her, you will not regret it.

Rona is one of my favorite professors! She has everything online so if you lose a handout its right there for you. She expects participation and likes to have class discussions. She makes you work for your grade and has a lot of online class discussion and also TONS of reading.

One of the best, if not THE best, instructors I've ever had at BGSU! So helpful and passionate about literature! Lead great discussion and was an overall great semester! TAKE HER CLASS IF YOU CAN!

I was slightly nervous about taking Rona after reading some of the reviews on here but I found her to be an exceptional teacher! She is very precise and clear on what she expects and I did not have too hard of a time getting an A in this class. The books she chose were a lot of fun to read! The workload was plenty but definitely doable!

Rona is an extremely hard grader. I'm struggling to keep an A in her class. She seems to care about her students, but grades very hard. And to make matters worse, half of the grades are not posted online for you to check up on throughout the semester. When you need to do the group project, I suggest going as one of the first groups!

Rona is the greatest. She really cares about the books that she has you read. They're incredibly quick reads and generally very enjoyable. The biggest projects are a group teaching project and making a children's book but she gives you A LOT of days off to work on them. I love her!

Shes a nice teacher but is ridiculous when it comes to grading. Good luck trying to get an A because she usually only gives Bs. Also seems to be very lazy, half the classes were online and she canceled alot.Doesn't post grades online either.You would think that all the extra time she has not teaching class she could at least put our grades online

Rona strives to make the class exciting. She's very flexible and very approachable. Lots of group lessons and is very discussion based, but DO THE READINGS. Can't stress that enough. I took her for Honors, and I loved it.

Makes it obvious over and over that this is an ENGLISH class, not an education class. I'm okay with hard graders and hard classes, unless the prof tries too hard to make it that way. Rona cancelled half the classes...the entire month of nov we didn't have class. If the prof has a lazy attitude toward the class, they shouldn't grade unfairly hard

I have a 3.88 GPA. The only class I have gotten a B in is statistics until Rona's class. This class is not relevant. It should be called "Controversial Children's Lit" or something. It's interesting don't get me wrong but I won't be using many of her books as an early childhood teacher. She has a 93-100 grade scale and it's harder than it should be

Rona is an excellent person to be around and she tries to make everything in her class relevant as well as entertaining. She's passionate about what she does and it rubs off on her students. I like the way she runs her classes as well - very discussion oriented.

I loved this course with Rona! She made the children books you have to read fun. Attendance is not mandatory, but she does give random quizzes that can not be made up. Read children books, write couple papers, group presentation project. Overall. she does grade harder than most, but if you work hard & do the work you receive a good grade!

I took ENG 342 online for the summer and it was great. You read books and then posted on a discussion board about them and responded to others' comments. She gives you plenty of time to get everything done. One group project PowerPoint (easier than you would think) and one 6-page essay. Really not bad, Rona is a wonderful teacher! Books are great!

The books that we read were awesome! She picks excellent books. Her grading scale sucks with a 93 to get an A. She helps out a lot. There was a group project, 1 essay, 3 short papers, and a final project of a children's book. She's sort of a hard grader, but if you try hard it is fine. This class is very fun and you learn a lot!
