Best instructor I ever had. He will push you to learn on your own but will always be there to answer questions. He encourages LOTS of questions during lecture and is by far the MOST available INSTRUCTOR for office hours. All I have to say is look at the people that gave him bad reviews, notice they did not say what their grade was. Must work hard!

Powerpoint that come straight from the textbook company.. had to teach myself chemistry and was having a hard time staying awake during lectures. Assigns textbook homework that doesn't get graded and online homework that I honestly did just to get a completion grade. He cares but doesn't teach effectively. Nice man, not my favorite teacher.

Dr. D'Amelia is a fantastic professor. He really knows his material and presents it only in PowerPoint. Class can get boring at times but the material is really easy and he's always willing to stay after and help. The tests are really easy as long as you pay attention. Great teacher to introduce you to Chem.

He is awesome! Takes a lot of pride in teaching his class! Very helpful and i love the way he teaches and the tools he uses. Grading is fair and his tests are fair and slightly easy if you pay attention. Def take his class! He is like a teddy bear! (he is intimidating at first but he is really sweet)

He is ADORABLE! If you show an interest and you respect him the way he respects you, you'll get along great! He's a typical tough New Yorker with a soft side, so you just have to get used to how he talks to his students. Overall he is such a caring man. He can see when you are struggling and helps out a lot. The class is do-able if you do the work

D'Amelia is a wonderful, caring, kind man and a great teacher. Yes his class is tough, yes he doesn't drop tests and yes the final is a very difficult ACS exam. But there's noone I met so far that CARES about you as a person and you can be FRIENDS with. He's like a grandpa to us all & the whole class loves him. He really wants you to do well.

Professor D'Amelia is one of the best professors I've had. He may go off on tangents, but he will go over everything on the test. The class before the tests, he will tell you the exact types of questions on the exam. If you go over these types of questions, you will get an A for sure.

This is not an easy class, but all the hw he assigns will get you to actually LEARN Chem. Tests are straightforward, pretty much the same thing you do on the hw (no surprises). The final is no fun, but most chem teachers use the ACS exam. He's a funny guy that seems intimidating, but he's great.

This was the only class I've ever failed. He's knowledgeable on the subject but he's not a teacher. My friend sat in on a lecture and said "Wow, this guy is terrible. My chem professor actually cares." Class moves at 50MPH with material he didn't make himself. Even our final exam wasn't custom made - it was a national exam. Do NOT take this prof.

You have to teach yourself all the material. His lectures are just powerpoints made by the textbook. You have over 40 assignments a week, with about 3-5 questions per assignment. Plus, you have textbook written homework. LOTS OF WORK. We had the other chem teacher lecture us when he wasn't there and I learned so much more.

Personable professor, but definitely expect A LOT of work. Teaches out of the textbook and is very hard to pay attention to, but is very nice and helpful if approached during office hours. Doesn't do too many practice problems in class, so you'll have to do the owl assignments, which is where I did most of my learning.

Awesome professor. He's very real, and values student's who actually work to learn the material on their own. Awesome lab professor, will help you out but also makes you think things through. I've learned so much from him!

Avoid at all costs. He grades based on who he likes.I studied for exams and he nitpicked things to take off on,take Strothkamp!!! Strothkamp drops your lowest quizes, and averages out a test if you had a fluke where you did bad. just avoid this guy, he teaches directly from the textbooks slides and is extremely unapproachable.

His personality may seem too large to handle, but he's a great professor and he respects a competent student. If you make an effort, he will notice. Don't miss out on the opportunity to take his course (and really learn chemistry) just because he is intimidating.

He made me cry. I felt very uncomfortable going to him for any help or speaking up in class. Intimidating and doesn't seem willing to help.
