I have had 3 classes with this guy at HSU, and hes a cool guy but a terrible professor. He talks at the class in and rarely touches the text book or factual information, he mostly states his thoughts and poor research as facts. He does not follow a grading system, just makes point systems up as he goes.

If you want to be academically challenged and actually learn something,take him every time. I took all of his classes, and no I didnt get straight A's.I learned more valuable things from him than anyone else at the U

He is an amazing professor. I feel like I learned something everday when I left the class. His tests are more on the difficult side but he gives REALLY good curves if the average is low. I suggest going to his office hours and getting to know him because he truely wants to know his students and cares about you. Don't believe the bad reviews!

I really liked Dr. Deitrick. His classs is challenging, yes, but he cares and wants you to do well. He is preparing you for the real world. As long as you put in the time to study you will be fine. Take advantage of his office hours. He really wants to get to know his students and truely cares about them. Take him! Don't be intimidated!

Such a good teacher, he applies his experiences and ties them in with what we are learning. By far my favorite professor, his tests are impossible, but such an interesting class and you will learn a lot. 4 tests, no final.

By far the worst professor I have ever experienced. After completing 4 classes with him (with good grades),I can say that he did not increase my knowledge of physiology. Challenges the students to study but forces them to develop bad study habits of strict memorization. Material presented is useless in the real world. Avoid if possible.

This man loves himself more then life its self. Spends half the class talking about himself. However he is a good teacher. Study ur notes and then the txt book focusing on what was in the notes. To get a good grade u need to put in the normal amount of work u would for a science class. Very willing to help over all good class hes just very annoying

Great guy, very helpful, students are LUCKY to take him. His tests are tough, yes, but he does his part in preparing you for them. If you prepare yourself for them you will be fine. His notes are very useful, loaded with content. It's a blessing that he talks about himself. If he didn't your hand would fall off from all the note-taking.

Don't be scared by him. He's great! If you listen carefully and try to write down as many notes as you possibly can andREAD what he tells you to, you will be fine. His tests are tricky though. I'll admit I would pull all nighters for them. In the end it's worth it. And he does talk about himself alot but I found it interesting. He can be funny too.

Awesome teacher! He talks about his experience in the field which is very interesting. Some people are turned off by that but he is trying to encourage his interests to pursue a profession in this field. He is extremely nice. Ask him questions. People that don't like him don't work hard enough in his class.

Dr. Dietrick is extremly consumed by his own research. He spends WAY too much time talking about how he could have gone to medical school, sulking in the past, and making his students suffer for his missed opportunity. His tests are impractical, and force students to memorize insignificant facts and statistics that change almost daily.

If you care about the class, Dr. D will care about you. Likes to know you have an interest. Study for his tests for a week. Tests are somewhat tricky, but you learn how he tests and the majority of people do fine. Average grade in his class for most people is probably a B. He's a great mentor and teacher.

Dr. D is a nice and smart man, but he doesn't know how to teach. He rambles about the same stuff over and over again. On the tests, instead of asking important questions, he asks questions to trip you up and cause you to have a bad grade. I dont learn in this class because the tests are too much- i memorize and then forget it. Have fun

Dr. D is my favorite teacher at the U. He is the most caring and condsiderate person. he always does whatever he can to answer questions and help. Tests aren't bad if you've studied.. and by this i mean not just the night before. He's the best teacher.. you're lucky to have him..
