I had Dr. Mollick for more than one class sometime between 1977 - 1980. He was a good guy & cared about us. I never remember hearing anyone talk of not liking him or dreading his class. He was a fun guy. In reading the reviews about him, perhaps he lost a little passion with age. In his own way he was effective. The reviews mention having to study!

Mollick's lectures are really dull and his quizzes are not as easy as you'd expect for general biology. The class isn't awful but he's not very helpful and he loves to quiz on fairly minute details (or in a less-than-clear, strangely worded way).

So BIOL 108 is a general class, right? Therefore it should be easy...right? Not with Dr. Mollick. He makes the class super difficult and will trick you to no end. The weekly quizzes are extremely tricky, so make sure you read each question very very carefully. If you must take biology, do not take it with Dr. Mollick.

Very ambiguous quizzes/tests. The class material wouldn't be that hard at all if the professor actually asked straight forward questions. Instead he tries to trick you at every turn and even though you ended up studying your butt of you will be relegated to a high C or B (if you study). If you don't - expect a D or F. In short: DON'T TAKE THIS GUY.

He tells you exactly what you need to know - most of the test material comes from lecture notes so you really need to go to class and take good notes. Lab is pretty easy. There was never any surprises as far as what was expected of you.

Horrible. I do not reccommend him. First of all, he rambles on and on making the lab so much longer than what it needs to be. Second of all, he does not grade fairly at all. He definitely has favorites and it shows in the grades. If it is possible, I will never take a class from him again.

Give him a chance. If you go into his class with the mindset that it's going to be boring, then you won't enjoy the class. You must keep an open mind with his lectures, his quizes ARE hard but if you go to him for help, he WILL help you! If your a visual learner, you'll have a hard semester, but he really is a very intelligent guy!!!

Mollick was EXTREMELY boring! He would go off and random rants about something that really had nothing to do with what he was talking about and it made it hard to follow along in his class. If you can take it with someone else... then do it!

I mean, sure he's monotone and the lectures are kinda boring, this is general level bio. its not interesting. all u have to do is GO TO CLASS and take notes! i am retaking this class cuz i thought i could skip class and get notes from someone else but its ur downfall. he's nice, & quizzes are EASY if u study ur self taken notes

Professor Mollick is a very smart man. He often rambles due to all the information he has. However, the information he presents is very interesting. He does not just go through the book. He creates his own outlines and explains the topics in a very clear fashion. You do not have to read the book for this class at all, just go to class.
