Comment:
He is not interested in student's ideas or feedback and only wants to tell them what he knows. Then, he thinks everyone should think like he does. Knows nothing about women's literature or studies. He puts too much emphasize on attendance and not enough on what students are learning.

he does have a power point for each lecture, which he does expands upon. Participationattendance is worth a lot, so if you miss class be sure to have good notes and read the materiel so you'll do well on the exam.

The mandatory attendance is somewhat annoying, but he forgives missed classes if you have a decent excuse and talk to him directly. Same with paper extensions. 3001 History of Literary Criticism can be a bit dry but he does the best with what he has to cover. He also is really into feminist criticism, which is awesome from a male prof.

mandatory attendance is the worst thing ever invented, especially when the prof is incredibly boring and simply talks TO the class. He goes on tangents all the time, and it makes what could be a great class super boring.

What a useless class. But I was forced to attend it for three hours a week, because attendance is worth 20% of the final grade. Great...

Lectures can be confusing to follow and there's a lot of course content, but he's really enthusiastic and is clearly very passionate about the material-overall I enjoyed the course. Just make sure to be alert and take good notes in lectures!

Glad I'm not the only one. I found him extremely condescending. Not to mention I don't believe he reviews the material prior to lecturing. We were studying The Importance of Being Earnest and he went on a long tangent about how Lady Bracknell was strong because she was a widow (which she is NOT). Worst prof, almost enough to turn me off English.

What some people here seem to consider enthusiasm is really just obnoxiousness. He missed the point of poetry and prefers to spend his time on useless plot details and vocabulary words. His essay comments are unhelpful and he deducts marks for criteria that are completely unrelated to the topic. If you love poetry, or fair grades, AVOID THIS PROF!

He is probably the worst English Prof I've had, if not the worst prof all together. The material he covers is dry and unoriginal. He is extremely condescending when he lectures and never really teaches anything. The topics of his essays are awful. If you must take this class, be sure to attend lecture because he tests you on specific terms.

I thoroughly enjoyed the subject matter, but Professor Tetrault is a tedious and boring lecturer. He is totally pompous. He never asks questions he simply talks at the class, and his knowledge of women's writers of the Romantic Era is severley lacking. It took all my energy not to go comatose during his lectures.

Professor Tetrault is extremely enthusiastic about what he teaches. Occasionally the subject matter is a little dry, but clearly enjoys what he's teaching so it makes it bearable. Overall I enjoy his class and teaching methods.

I find that he is very knowledgable in the Art of Poetry in the sense of its structure, history,as well as, style. He shares with the class not only the background of various poets, but also in which ways that they have contributed to poetry style etc. He arms you with knowledge for further study.

I'd rather syringe hot lemon juice into my own eye than listen to another one of this man's lectures. Don't expect creativity, enthusiasm, nor compassion. Hand me my lemon juice, please.
