Rosemarie is awesome. Helpful, funny, fair marker. Would recommend her for sure, but you must really work. Language courses are VERY intensive and fast, so be ready to study every day! In my class, at least five people dropped the course in first weeks, because they couldn't keep up.

Disrespectful towards her students, poor classroom management, textbook does not match up with the course, and lacks energy and enthusiasm to properly answer valid student questions. She is a bitter and uncaring instructor. Avoid this class.

Rosemarie was a very good professor for intro German. She does tend to get sidetracked at times but if you pay attention you will do well. Vocabulary is very important in her class but it really pays off in the end. I've taken many German classes and I learned the most vocabulary in her class. She was very pleasant and I learned a lot from her.

Comment:

Very sweet and friendly woman, but cannot teach. Our entire class was constantly confused and asking questions which she would respond with "oh, it's easy, you know it" or "it's alright, ok?". Students always put on the spot with questions in front of the whole class which made many of us eager to skip class. Very unclear instructions and teaching.

I wish she was my grandma. I really loved going to class. Made lots of friends. It was like a family. I went to another section for a while but the students in it weren't nearly as good and class was not half as fun. The textbook was really good. Going to class and doing assignments made everything much easier. Plus we had parties and ate food.

Comment:

Sprachpraxis was a very enjoyable third year class. The Prof. was extremely accommodating to the class and was always available outside the classroom. The only frustrating thing was that many students who thought they knew everything did not do their homework and then complained in class about how "unclear" everything was. Excellent Professor!!

She does not know how to control a class; standards kept dropping through year. Lacks a clear understanding of grammar. Did not understand the needs of individual students. She does not have clear standards for students to live up to and yet takes it personally when they do not meet standards. Ripe for retirement in my opinion.

The woman is a godsend ... she goes out of her way to make sure you're understanding and doing okay. If only all of our profs were like Frau Finlay!
