I wasn't looking forward to English class, but he really made it relevant and interesting. A LOT of reading. But the content was really relevant, and though at first I was thrown by his humour, I ended up really enjoying his dark, sarcastic wit.

Ross rocks! He's great fun and horridly offensive. If you're religious, pro-U.S. governement or very conservative you'll probably hate him. He swears, teases, is sacrastic and deliberatly inflamatory and hilarious.

At first I could not stand him. I hated how he talked about religion, politics, addiction, etc. Once I opened my mind up, though and got into debates with him and the rest of the class, it was actually really fun. I hated some of the reading material and let him know, which was yet another class long discussion...

Ross is awesome! I never knew english could be so interesting. Very socially liberal, wise, funny, and helpful. It's true that he likes to talk politics, but who cares? He's allowed to have an opinion too, and unlike most people, he isn't afraid to discuss it openly. Cudos to him.

Ross has a gift for making old literary material current and relatable. He is personable, funny and a very effective teacher...i still use handouts from his class for my other classes. True, he is into politics but everything he introduces is relevant to class topics.

Good prof -- nice guy. His feedback is incredibly helpful on papers and I think he cares how his students do. He's a fair marker -- the midterm was a little hard -- but he gives students teh chance to improve :-) I love his criticisms of government :-) It's awesome!
