AWESOME :) Not a huge fan of ecology, but really liked this class. Not too hard if you read and come to class. I thought he had interesting lectures and he knew how to keep our interest, throwing in jokes and relating info to our generation!

Amazing prof. Definitely my favourite. I never get bored in lecture (which is saying something) and I always pay attention because he tells the best stories. Some say the other sections are easier but I've had him for both ecology sections and although my marks are just ok it's definitely worth it!

Had him for 303 and 302 (304 and 305 next year) and he is AMAZING! My favorite prof so far. I am completely rearranging my schedule to take one of his classes next year. He makes you want to go to class, and while he does get off topic his stories are highly entertaining. Go to office hours and review sessions (he tells you what's on the exam)

Dr Turkington rocks! He is so funny and makes you want to come to class. His notes make good sense and are posted online, but he says very important things (ie. midterm material) in class. Sometimes he gets a little off topic, but it is all in good fun. Really important to go see him and go over things if you don't understand. He will remember you.

Dr. Turkington is great! Ecology became my favourite course because of him. He's funny, helpful and cares about students! His material is more straightfoward than Goodey's and he's not out to "get" you! Take ecology with this guy!

Get in, take BIOL302, thank your lucky stars Roy (however easy/a bad prof/whatever he may be) is teaching 1/2 the course, get out. I liked Roy and going to his lectures, and GO TO HIS REVIEWS, he tells you what's on the exam (his portion). You'll probably need it (see the review below this one, he IS sympathetic).

Comment:
This prof artfully hides the fact that he can't teach with his incessant humour. Freq-dependent selection is the basis of multiallelism. But Roy decides it simply explains that sheep eat clovers (sarcastic applause). He even tells you what's on the midterm because he sympathizes with your hours of pointless studying. High five UBC, high five.

GO TO THE REVIEW SESSIONS. i got an A on his midterm solely because of the reviews. also jot down the things he says will be on the exam during class (they really will be on the exam!). great lecturer. take roy's section of 303 or you'll be sorry- at least you can do well on the midterm (roys material) while you'll choke on the final (wayne's)

I loved his class! So interesting. I didn't fall asleep listening to his lecture! Final was hard b/c goodey made almost all of it. But if you go to his lecture, you'll understand materials well.
