Russell Gill is honestly one of my favorite people. He is ALWAYS willing to look at drafts and help with any questions on the work and books he assigns. He makes the topic truly interesting, and he has clear expectations on how to study for exams. He is very kind, very helpful, and I have learned the most from him during my time at Elon.

Professor Gill is very nice, caring, and passionate about literature. He made a subject in which I had little interest (Renaissance Literature) very captivating. The written assignments are time consuming but there are very few of them.

Such a nice guy, reminds me of my grandpa. His lectures are boring and the instructions can be unclear, but the class was pretty easy. There were 4 papers for the whole semester and we only had homework once or twice. He's willing to help with any problem you have on your papers or anything about school in general.

Russell Gill is the absolute best. He will remind you of your grandfather, I promise. His work is not hard at all, but his directions might be a bit hazy. He is really easy-going and a wonderful human being. I sat in that back of class on my laptop most of the time and I still ended up with an A.

Gill is one of the kindest guys I have ever met. He is always willing to help anyone who has the slightest setback. He assigns a lot of reading for only four assignments for the semester. The lectures can be very boring, but it is possible to get by without doing a majority of the reading or participating extensively.

I took Prof Gill for college writing and really enjoyed it. It is a very relaxed class, you can bring food and be on the computer the whole time if you please. We had to write 5 term papers over the semester. He is a fair grader. Very sweet man.

I took this class first semester freshman year, I could not have asked for an easier transition. Professor Gill is an unassuming guy who sort of just putters around. I was on facebook all year, when I wasn't too tired to show up for class, but I never got below an A on a paper- even when I put in literally no effort.

Professor Gill is brilliant. His insights are incredible. If you think he's boring, you don't have a mind capable of keeping up with him. If you don't like thinking, don't take the class. By the way, he won Elon's distinguished professor award in 2006, so if you think he's a bad teacher, you're provably wrong.

EXTREMELY boring class. he rambles a lot. only 2 reports and 1 paper but the guidelines are so vague that there's no way of knowing what he wants. impossible to get higher than a b. he's a nice person, but don't take his class unless you need a naptime or enjoy being miserably bored.
