He's a very nice person, but nothing really matters aside from the two papers in class. He's a very very hard grader and will take points off for simple mistakes even if you follow the rubric. Papers are too hard and aren't very clear. He's very responsive to emails and is available outside class if you ask him, even outside his office hours.

He's a great professor! He's so helpful and understanding and he treats his students right. As much as BIO 15 isn't a fun or interesting class, you'll learn a lot by taking it with him.

I hated the course because it was a mandatory bio major course that basically brought everyones average down. I got a B- with him and wrote my name reports a week in advance while sending him rough drafts. Hes hard but every bio 15 class was hard from what i heard from others. So aside from the grading aspect, hes a great guy, nice an approachable.

Loved Burke! He was so funny! Lot of work put into the class. All the tests were recall but if you study hard, you should be okay. Also, hated Beak of the Finch with a burning passion of a thousand suns!

Probably the first time in college where I felt class was a discussion. It never felt like I was being talked at (In a class of 50+ which is impressive) He LOVES what he does, knows everything, and really conveys the information well. Learned so much, just wish there was a slight curve or something. Burke's great!!!

had him for my human biology lab. tells you what the lab is, what you have to do. then leaves and does his own thing for the majority of class. theres a quiz every lab to make sure you read what youre supposed to be doing. helps you when you need it. theres one paper and then one lab writeup at the end for an experiement you have to design yourself

Prof. Burke is great! He's very interested in what he teaches and he does his best to make the material applicable and comprehensive. He doesn't really rely on the readings and he takes his time with material, making sure he's covered everything before moving on. Take his class!

I think this course should be bands, not cuz of the professor, cuz Dr. BUrke is the nicest shmuck i know, but the books and readings that he assigned are terrible. great guy though. AWESOME :) Do know your stuff for his essay tests, and the stuff to read on the syllabus is usually not on the test. 2 days b4 the test he will tell you what you are responsible for in the text. If you don't understand something use the book as a supplement, but you don't really need to. If he specifically tells you READ THIS...READ IT.
