Great Professor! Really knows his theology and very well educated!!! He is extremely helpful and if you are passionate about learning you will do well. In essence, do not be lazy and you will do fine. The people who complain ar eobviously not motivated enough to put some effort to understand what is going on.

I thought Dr. Reno was a great teacher. The Faerie Queene was tough reading, but if you could pull through it, it really did become clear what we were supposed to be learning from it. I also think the Purgatorio was a good choice for this class. He's well-educated and gives a good, rounded perspective on ethics. He made a good effort to be funny. (

If you are worried about getting an A then I would recommend him! I went to public school so I think I had it harder than some, but I (usually) read the assignments, I failed a couple quizzes, showed up to every class, and got an A! Midterm test is an essay and multiple choice, one paper, and the final is 50 easy questions! Definitely recommend!!

You can't understand his lectures, but the class requires minimal work. He's really passionate about what he teaches and he's actually pretty funny if you listen to him. He keeps things interesting. You wouldn't actually learn a lot from his class. I'd recommend taking if you are already loaded with all other difficult classes

I don't understand why all these other comments are so negative...yes, he is boring, and he drones on, but if you just do the outside reading you never have to listen in class. It's really not that bad...one test, one paper, and a final; a few quizzes thrown in. He even brought us doughnuts on the day of the final...really not that bad.

The most boring class I have ever taken. I am typing this during class while everyone else is on facebook. He thinks we are listening but nobody ever talks. If you do the reading and pay attention to details you will pass quizzes. Expect to read 32 chapters in the bible a night. Arrogant. Terrible teacher. Do not take him.

Single most boring class I have ever taken. He just goes on and on and it's impossible to follow him. He has impossibly high standards, which he tells the class. Arrogant. He tries to make himself look more intelligent but in the end just talks for thirty minutes and only says one thing.

Regret. That is the main thing that runs through my mind when I think about Reno's course. He is the most arrogant, self-centered, dumb professor I have ever met. He refuses to help, he contradicts himself, and he enjoys putting down his students. I honestly believe that he has absolutely no good intentions. Avoid him and you will not regret it.

Extremely egotistical, even admitted to our class. Very contradicting of himself and the textbooks. Grades with exceptionally high standards but expects you to just KNOW what he wants. His lectures wander and he reads too much into the material, tells students not to read too much into it. Won't help at all and is very vague. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!

Reno is an incredibly arrogant professor. He is very opinionated and refuses to accept any other opinions. He speaks in such a round about way that no one has any idea what he's trying to say. If faced with the choice of taking his section of HRS, definitly avoid it with all costs. In the first two weeks 9 people transfered to the other section

I found him to be very easy. Whatever he wanted on the essays he will tell you. Basically, all the essays were just repeating everything he told you during class. It's a little frustrating because whatever his opinion is is true and everything else is false, but if you're just there for the grade then that actually makes this easier.

Reno is a good teacher and so is the material he presents to the class. Sure, he talks a lot but that's because most of the class doesn't want to say anything back. He means well and will help if you go to him. He pushes you to do well. Warning, first couple of weeks he just tries to scare students to make class smaller and easier to teach/manage.

I was glad to have taken him for Theology all my other friends had to memorize history that seemed more than pointless at times. I thought it was an intelectual course that keeps you thinking. Although i will agree he kind of likes to hear himself talk a lot but if your lucky you get out of classes quite early sometimes!

I wasn't impressed. It would be difficult if you don't know how to skim books and write papers mechanically. My section didn't follow the University class description at all. The books were boring, and I feel ripped off paying for 3 hours of his lecture noise. At least it wasn't 3 hours of Catholic Church history(like it is supposed to be)
