One of the best professors in Sauder. Go to lectures, do the practice problem sets posted each week (do them each week, not all at once before the exam), and you will easily get 90+. There's nothing on the exam you won't have seen before, and she is pretty lenient with part marks. Take her for 298 if you can.

Don't need the textbook. Solid teacher who tests what she teaches and is super fair. Doesn't scale because her exams are straight forward and if you do the practice sets you should be able to ace this course. Early morning lectures are super painful and dry but honestly don't need to be in class to understand the concepts. Best teacher I've had

Best teacher I've ever had. material is dry but its finance, what do you expect? Really makes sure you learn and if you attend class you will ace her exams. Not many practice Qs but she really tries to explain concepts well.

It was my honor to have Ruth as my finance prof. She gives complete and straightforward lecture notes before every lecture. She expects students to attempt their best in figuring our answers to practice problems first, so come to her office hours with preparedness. She is just like my grandmother, kind and patient. (^_^)

Had her for 298 and 370, really enjoyed her both times. Her notes are the best. Course is 40% midterm, 60% final; midterm is challenging but fair, however the final was brutal. Really tough, it's like nothing you've practiced all term. Take Ruth's class if you want to know corporate finance inside-out, but expect your grade to drop post-midterm.

Ruth is very meticulous and chooses her words carefully. Her slides are complete (albeit a little dry); you do not need a textbook at all. People might hate on her because she is old and not exactly "cool" but she is a great professor and is actually quite funny. I would recommend her to anyone who values substance over flair.

Her slides are good in accordance to lectures. Reading the notes and not going to class will not cut it. However, going to class is always a dread. Ruth speaks like a robot, goes on about something for 45 minutes, and she consistently answers students' questions with a very high, and noticeable degree of annoyance and condescension.

Ruth is a great professor, one of the best for Finance. Slides are clear but lectures are sometimes hard to follow. She is a little hard to get along with but if you take classes seriously you'll do just fine. PS DO THE PROBLEM SETS

Ruth lectures off her slides and spends too much time on slides students could read in 2 minutes. She answers student questions with a degree of annoyance in her voice, and does not appear to care about student learning. Great class if you want to go and spend 80 minutes on social media.

she seems welcome questions, but when i actually come, she appears that I wasted her time. Her reaction is so inconsistent with her encouragement to ask questions. She hurts students who are keen to learn.

Best Finance Prof in Sauder. I will take her upper level course in the future. Crystal-Clear Lecture Slide! If you attend the lecture and focus, you will get a very high mark. Very fair marker.
