Very nice person and caring professor! Always ready to help if you do not understand smthg. You have to take her class seriously. She gives quite a bit of hw, but it is easy. I really recommend you to take her in your freshman year because you will learn a lot and it will help you with your next classes, especially if you are a foreign student.

Hello all! Someone recently reminded me of this teacher; so I thought, I should go back and leave a review so other people could save themselves from this class. The class was unorganized and the homework got piled on. She also doesn't keep grades online and if she writes something down and misplaces your work it sucks for you.

She is very inconsiderate and gives ridiculous amounts of work. she doesn't realize that a lot of times students have to work too. I don't know why she makes it her mission to make a low level English class so difficult.

She is a very nice lady and does care about her students but it kind of feels like a class you can take when you struggle reading. She does help you focus on other classes but give a TON of busy work that distracts you from other classes. Get ready for reading tests and vocab quizzes. The final exam is five parts plus a meeting with her.

Ms. Sawyer is such a nice lady! Always easy to talk to and will always try to help you out. Bad part is there is too much homework. I could understand if you were an English major, but it truly is a ridiculous amount of work to do. The sad part is the works not hard just extremely time consuming. You find yourself missing your work from your major.

You read a lot of novels and there is a ton of busy work. None of the work is very hard, but it is definitely time consuming. I spent more time on this class than I did all of my other 300 level classes. Mrs. Sawyers is very nice and approachable, but since this is a new class it was often unorganized.

Horrible teacher. Never had the grades in on time. We read five novels all in the second part of the semester. This class, as a general education class, was harder than all of my other classes combined. Very harsh grader and she also gives out a ton of homework. Would never recommend taking this teacher. Horrible

Ms. Sawyer was great in general. She would take the time to help you if need be. She also was lenient with turning stuff in, since she understood that college is a new experience to freshmen. However, there will be an incredible amount of busy work that will help you use the skills taught in class.

Professor Sawyers is by far the best professor that I have had at SVSU. Her ultimate goal is to see you succeed in not only her course, but your entire college career and beyond. As long as you take the time to complete your work, you will pass this class. You'll also see an increase in your other courses as well because of the methods she teaches.

Honestly, I did not really care for this teacher at first. I felt like she was treating us like little kids and assigned too much work. However, she is really willing to work with her students, and I see now all that work helps students get a better grade. If you want a teacher who truly cares for her students, choose her.

Her teaching method is all over the place. Lessons have very little point in them, and she completely disregards learning styles and expects everyone to dance to her music. She assigns an overwhelming amount of busy work that is reminiscent of High-school and is complete BS.
