Sam is legendary. You find yourself looking forward to every class, because he's just so hilarious! He teaches extremely well and really cares for his students. He hosts a fondue party at the end of every semester! TAKE HIS CLASS! You will NOT regret it, and will probably want to take his classes forever!

I can't stress how much I loved having Sam as a teacher. A lot of lectures I've attended drag on, but he's got this way of making the material engaging and funny- I was never bored! He's also super great about meeting outside of class if you need that, getting back to emails quickly, giving feedback on work, etc. Loved him!

Sam is utterly hysterical - he's the perfect professor to have first thing in the morning, because you definitely won't be bored in his class. For his big lecture classes (like symbolic logic) he doesn't take attendance. However, I recommend showing up, or you will probably get lost very quickly. I highly recommend attending his fondue parties.

I took philosophy 101 and symbolic logic with him. His lectures are outstanding, but you really have to follow everything or else you'll be lost. His office hours are great, and he'll do anything to help. Plus, he's overall just a great guy.

He's very engaging and funny! Loved the discussions and he always answers questions to the best of his ability. Super nice. At 8:35am though, lecturing can get a bit tedious but he makes it enjoyable.

Took symbolic logic with him. Very funny, very self-aware, and very respectful of students (takes care to address preferred pronouns). Lectures with powerpoint slides, which he makes accessible on Moodle. Very good-natured, intelligent, and lenient. One of a kind professor. (Bonus: hosted a fondue party at his house at the end of the semester!)

Sam Mitchell is the kind of professor you hear stories about and wish you'd taken a class with. Aside from his endearing eccentricity, the man is brilliant and highly engaging. Our grade was based on 10 homeworks + the final exam, which was worth 4 hwks. If you're not a phil/CS/math major, make sure to take this challenging class with a friend.

There's nothing I can say about Sam Mitchell that hasn't been said already. A wonderful prof and a great guy. He makes material comprehensible and accessible, and it's impossible not to fall in love with him a little. He may have made a Philosophy minor out of this Neuro major. (A note: our grade was only based on three exams. Worth it, though.)

This class was sooo easy, it was the only one that I didn't feel guilty if I missed. Got an 'A' on all exams with only doing about 30% of the reading. Sam seems approachable and I have a lot of friends who would see him during office hours and get stuff explained. Sam is also REALLY HILARIOUS. Overall, a super GPA booster and a fun class to take.
