Your average lecturer. She's very knowledgeable in her field, and I appreciated her neutral style of lecturing despite being a Feminist. She does, however, tend to drag on a bit, and her monotone voice can make things worse. What I did love about her course is her usage of the "IR Simulation" where students role played as diplomats.

Was excited... did not meet my expectations. Professor is specifically there to lecture. She is quick to make poor assumptions of her students and their efforts. However, she presents herself well in lecture and seems approachable, this was not the case at all. Lecture was at 8:30, tutorial took place in evening. TA was selective. "Buyer Beware!"

Terrible class, terrible prof. She uploads 0 notes and she doesn't have any sort of presentation in class. All she does is talk in the lecture and you just have to hope you didn't miss anything since there is nothing written. Mid term is 3 hour; you have to write 2 essays from the top of your head. Avoid at all costs.

The people giving Professor Whitworth low ratings probably did not attend the lectures, take proper notes or do the readings. Her exams are based on her lectures AND readings. It is a difficult course if you do not take it seriously. She is a wonderful professor - do recommend!

Great professor! I had this course at 8:30 in the morning, and definitely never hesitated to come to class. Coming to class and doing the readings is extremely important. This class is NOT easy if you aren't going to do the work. I also had David as a TA, and he was amazing :)

An amazing woman and prof. Her lectures are great, most of the exam is based on them. She is one of York's finest prof's. As a political science major, pol 2940 with her was enjoyable. All in all, I would recommend her 100%.

She could do a better job at making the course interesting but overall a very good professor. She's a tough marker, but then again that also depends on the TA you get. Uses both textbooks and course kit.
