Good overall knowledge of the subject but has no business teaching it. Ambiguous and inconsistent with expectations. Conceals his evident lack of teaching by attempting to be humorous, often making a fool of himself.

Sandy is an amazing prof. He is very knowledgeable and he is a really great fun guy. He expects a lot out of his students and is a pretty hard marker, yet he is incredibly fair. Don't let any of this stop you though, whether your only taking one class in geography or are a major/minor, you have to take a class with Sandy, he is awesome!!!

His love for geography, as oppossed to it just being a job, really shone through to make the class more interesting. He was always available for help. Marking was fair.

Everyone at UCFV knows Sandy, and he is funny etc. Even though he's the kind of guy that you could have some beers with and be dazzled by his theories on earthquakes and volcanoes - he was really picky with his marking of assignments and exams. Really, what's the dif between a tarn and a tarn lake!?

Comment:
A good geoscientist; probably the most knowledgable Geog prof i've had. But that doesn't make one a good instructor. Often ambiguous and unclear regarding tests and assignments. A hard and inconsistent marker. His classes are characterized by large groups of sycophants (Sandy-ites).

An excellent prof, knows his stuff really well. Is very helpful if you seek his help. Can be a brutally hard marker, but if you approach the class willing to work hard and don't expect to be given an A, you'll survive.

His classes are interesting because he has a good sense of humour and knows his stuff, but tests are really hard. expect stuff you've never heard of before to be on the test, unless you've memorized the textbook.

Excellent prof! Definitely knows his stuff. Tougher marker than the rest, but only because he expects students not to be complete slackers. Field trips are a riot, especially Aberdeen. Great sense of humour too! Makes physical geography interesting.
