Comment:
Virginia was very sweet and made the most of the semester, even though she was taking over for another teacher who was forced to leave for medical reasons. She did require us to buy new books and this was frustrating mid-semester, when the money is running out, but she was helpful and gave good feedback to help everyone get the best grade possible.

knowledgeable and somewhat clear about her expectations. Though she did seem to cater more to theatre students, overall she was somewhat fair.

She's one of my favourite professors. She's very clear in her expectations and requirements and is extremely approachable when something is unclear. Classes are structured a lot on class discussion and values everyone's thoughts and opinions. Not condescending or pompous like many other profs.

An enjoyable class. She taught via a variety of media and fostered a positive learning environment. Her marking was fair and her expectations were clear. She does not hand out free grades; but, if you put the effort into studying and preparing, you will do well.

Wrote sarcastic comments on a number of students' quizzes/papers. Ex. she wrote "ingenious" but only gave a mark of 1/5. She handed back a quiz and said "Not your strong suit". She told us at the final exam that she would mark the exams blindly so she wouldn't be persuaded by the names of students while she was marking. not an enjoyable class.

A great professor. The material she chose was interesting and inspirational. She created a lot of interest. Her class structure varies with movies, lectures, group discussions, and presentations. She's very knowledgeable and approachable.

Excellent instructor! Extremely approachable, knowledgeable and fair. I avoided taking Shakespeare for four semesters because of all the terrible things I heard about Lisa Storozynsky, so when I saw that Virginia was slated to teach it, I registered immediately. Needless to say, I'm glad that I waited!!!

She knows the subject well and makes class time fun (not all classes are lecture-based). I have heard really good things from other students as well. I'm not sure how much longer she's going to be teaching, but if you get a chance, I highly recommend her class!
