The class requires lots of homework, but it is not difficult to pass, provided you don't miss any of the activities. Prof. Navarro is very caring and responds quickly. Take the course with him if you can!

Class was online & is pretty hard if you do not speak Spanish. I thought I knew a good amount but I obviously did not. The prof. answers emails right away and updates you. His not a tough grader, what I think he problem is the book used, Wiley and the online tutoring isn't much help. All of them only speak Spanish and can't explain in english.

Fairy easy for a foreign language. There is a lot of homework, however you can breeze through it and go as much in advance as you want. He seems to be really nice (i took him online) and responds to messages fairly quick. Would have taken him for spanish 1 if i would've known.

This was a fascinating class on Hispanic Gothic (Horror and the Fantastic in Spain and Latin America) and Dr. Juan-Navarro is one of the most inspiring professor I have ever had. There is lot of homework, but grading is fair.

I had the amazing opportunity of taking Professor Juan-Navarro's class and it was incredible! He's fair, he's knowledgeable and always willing to help. This class was half in campus and the rest online. Three essays, forum discussions and once a week answer some questions about the lecture online. Most of the work was done online but great class!

At first the class seems difficult but it gets easier. Overall, I highly recommend the class and professor. Dr. Navarro makes the material fun and interesting and encourages participation without demeaning anyone.

What an incredible professor! Even though the coursework seems like a lot at first, Dr. Juan-Navarro made it extremely appealing. He is very knowledgably and supportive. He is always available and wants to make sure everybody does well in the class.

Since there is a lot of work and homework done for this course, my advice is to score very high on everything and not to miss anything that is due. It is possible to get a passing grade if you do so. That way god forbid you fail the Final you are still ensured a passing grade. That doesn't mean "don't study for the Final" either!!!!

I deeply enjoyed his class. Dr. Juan-Navarro is well versed in Hispanic literature, culture and film. His lectures are very thoughtful and the class materials are extremely interesting.

I am fluent in Eng/Spanish. However, I did not realize that this class would be conducted in ALL Spanish. The prof is a Spaniard, speaks fast, and uses a lot of technical jargon relating to films and film making. So, I was left out of the loop quite frequently. Also, get ready to discuss political issues of Cuba - past, present, and future! Ugh!

Took online class, did minimal work, don't know an ounce of Spanish & passed with a B+ (I think there was a curve). Make sure you do all homework, 2 short papers, and discussions to pad your grade for the proctored final. The study guide is NOT the final, but you will be asked to write one of your papers for the final. THIS IS A MUST TO PASS!

Great professor. Half of the class was online, including all the reading material making it unnecessary to purchase a text. A fair grader and the class is easy if you like to write (2 take home essay exams and a research essay). He is also very knowledgeable about the subject.

Fully online! I had a tutor but the verb conjugations are a pain! You have 5 ch. exams, 5 HW assigns, 2 compositions, 5 discussions, and 1 on-campus final. I expected a C in the class and lower on the final but I got a 81% on the final and an A- in the class. I love him for this! But still take on campus! He's an easy grader but online is no joke!
