Took this class before they changed the to the WR courses...she was awful awful awful awful awful...she belongs in a library away from people surrounded by her Romantic poetry. If you are looking for someone to actually help you get off on the right foot when it comes to academic writing, you should find another instructor.

whoa! somebody doesnt know what a good prof. is! prof. hilinski was a tough grader but she made me work hard to do well. my writing improved and I got to write about art and beauty and things that matter. cool class.

Very dull subject matter makes all the papers hard to write! It seemed like we were writing on the same themes over and over. I found her comments on papers to be vague and not very helpful.

She's very intelligent and good natured. she has a high silly voice that you cant zone out to though. other than that, she teaches well, in tune with the students, flexible about schedules. though i always got that sketchy A-/B+ grade from her.

Shes a good teacher, but she goes on rants that just get you completely lost. Tough grader, nothing higher than a B unless you earn it which is next to impossible. hard to look at for long periods of time but very helpful, just ask for it.alot of writing
