Only "C" I received as a French major was from her, and I'm French. If "Le Moyen-Age" is not your main love, 'nuff said. Don't ever correct her,I did(a date-WWII history-not her strength?) I was spoken to about it after class in a nasty manner. Did not understand why I got the "C", maybe it was deserved, maybe not. Females fare better? Maybe??

Very excited about the subject. Not pretentious; doesn't assume that students know everything, and will pause to make sure they understand what she's talking about. Grades hard on essays because she used to teach writing, but if you write well there's no problem. Show an interest in the subject and she'll like you.

Nice, but grades strangely. What I get on the tests never corresponds with how I thought I did. Assumes a bit much. Don't take unless you have a huge interest in subject matter and can decipher facts quickly. Doesn't really serve as an intro for the uninitiated as promised.

Great class. it's a breeze, the lectures are interesting, and she tells interesting stories that relate to the material she's teaching. she invites a lot of guest speakers, and the tests are fair and clear.

not terrible, but confusing. the expectations of students aren't made clear. she knows the information, but doesn't teach it so much as throw it about randomly. i didn't know how she was going to grade exams, and once i got them back, i still didn't understand how she'd graded them.
