An Incredible professor with a vast wealth of knowledge on the subject of free thought. There is no textbook, but she makes you print at least 200 pages worth of essays. Insanely difficult midterm and final, but I learned a lot in the class, and she was very understanding when I had some personal issues I had to deal with during the semester.

I absolutely loved Dr. Farris, and I am not one to take a liking to teachers. She has daily quizzes so attendance is a must to get credit for these. There are readings to do before each class but they are usually short and usually interesting. There are 2 essays, a midterm and a final. Essays are not bad at all one of mine was 5 pages the other only 3 (still recieved a B+ for the short one) If you are struggling go to her office hours she is extremely helpful, or email her personal email and she will respond and help in any way possible. Great professor. Yes she is strong in her views so were alot of students so it was a fun class.

a very confusing professor. we never knew what was going on and most of the time people would fall asleep. She doesn't respond to emails and if she does shes sarcastic. When asked other students if they knew what to do, they'd be just as confused. 2 essays. One midterm. Morning warm ups turned out to be quizzes. Attendance was confusing.

If you don't have a PHD already, don't waste your time. Since she is a PHD, she expects that you write on the same level. Unorganized, unhelpful. Don't try to ask her questions through email unless you're prepared for a vague and condescending response. Biased and pushes her sexual and political views in class. Unclear about what is expected.

She was a good teacher. She got everyone talking and discussing the material we read. The only thing that put me off was the fact that she showed no shame in revealing her political views to a class full of impressionable young students. I guess she's your average liberal college professor. I won't take her class again.

A teacher who knows history. Class was very interesting but you must attend. Be prepared to write a reseach paper - which is very detailed. All the quizes are taken on-line, but the mid-term exam - I suggest you really study for. Overall, I learned a lot and the teacher was awesome as well.
