Absolutely loved this class! Professor Gilbert is very witty, and makes class fun. There is a lot of reading but he is so intelligent that you learn so much each class. It does seem like a graduate course, he expects a lot from you. Be prepared to work hard in this class! He does allow you to revise your work but learn to take criticism

I survived Gilbert. He is quite possible one of the most intelligent person u will meet. If you are serious about writing you have to approach this class like a graduate course. Always come prepared and turn your essays in early so you will have time to rewrite the mistakes he will find. And he will find them. Be fearless , honest, and brilliant.

Tons of drama plays to read and discuss in class and on BB. A total of 4 essays of four pages or more. The research paper contain of ten pages. This class kept me extremely busy. The prof's lecture was interesting and he seemed nice in class but was very harsh in grading papers. If you turn in early, you will have a chance to redo essays.

Critical thinking is what Dr. Gilbert will teach you. If you take his class you have to come prepared just to begin. His approach is more of a graduate level course. If you want an easy class please don't take him. If you want to write however and you want to learn to write the correct way then take him. You will rewrite what u thought was good.

Professor Gilbert's class was full of reading & memorization. The final was 3 parts & he did not review - at all! Over 1,000 pgs of reading, to include a 400+ pg novel that you have to write a 7pg+ paper on. 4 online quizzes - mostly written and vocabulary (written)...very time consuming class to be a sophmore level course. Would NOT recommend!!
