Great Professor. InitIally, I disliked him as a teacher as I couldn't understand his pedagogy, but as I did well in the quizzes and attended his office hours, I gained confidence to do well in his class. His unique style of teaching coupled philosophical discussions are really an eye-opener. I like corporate finance, thanks to Professor Gabriel

I would not recommend taking his class as he does not follow the syllabus I never knew what to expect on quizzes because he does not tell you what chapters to study and quizzes on chapters not studied he is great as a person but not as a professor I did not learn anything useful in this class and struggled wished I had never taken it to begin with!

Professor Garbriel, was indeed one of the worst teachers I have had in my academic career. He brags about how successful he is, and the many important individuals he knows. However, he is not very clear and test students on materials that he does not teach in class. If you actually want to learn invaluable information, please do not take his class.

Corporate Finance w/ him was a nightmare. He does not follow the syllabus and you never know what to expect on a quiz. Gives negative points for wrong answers and doesn't curve. Almost nothing discussed in class is useful on the quiz. Seems knowledgeable, but reluctant to impart his knowledge. BEWARE!

He teaches every class differently. I should know. I took four classes from him. The best way to know if you will like his class is to talk to someone who has direct experience with that particular class. He allows more independence and participation in seminars but his intro corporate finance is the hardest course in economics.

I took two classes from him. Just graduated and now feel he was my best teacher in economics and one of the best overall. He cares about students and wants them to learn how to analyze and to think. His classes are not easy but he gives you lots of guidance. I really appreciate what he did for me and would highly recommend his class, but only if you're serious about learning.

Every class he manages to talk about himself. he never really gives the students a chance to talk and when he did it always ended up off topic because he didn't care, he told us our class wasn't important to him. we all got a's so he didn't have to grade our 2 papers or give a final. RUN AWAY!

At first I didn't like him or his weekly quizzes, but then something happened. I started listening to what he was teaching and found that I was learning things that were very useful and in a way that actually started to be fun. Now think he is the best teacher I've ever had.

Economics of Cyberspace changed my life! Made me realize how women are left out of technology, and really inspired me to learn more about cyberspace and technology. Though a little free-styling, you can learn a lot in this class, BUT DON'T BE AFRAID TO TALK!! Do the readings, go to class, and you will have plenty to contribute to this seminar!

This comment is about the advanced corporate finance, but I also want to say that I read the comments about Professor Gabriel's quizzes. I took the corporate finance and anyone who says his quizzes are easy must think K2 is an easy hike. If you do survive the corporate finance, though, then you get to take the advanced finance, which was my favori

Semester is almost over and this is the first class I've ever wanted to just keep going. Really enjoyed the lectures. I'm from China but I learned a lot about East Asia that I didn't know. I'm not a fan of quizzes, but I like that we got to write essays. Really great teacher!

This has been my best class at Mount Holyoke. I really love his lectures. For me this is what liberal arts colleges are supposed to be like. He covers economics, politics, culture, and the environment in a way that you understand how they all fit together. His quizzes are pretty easy.

The worst professor I have seen in Mount Holyoke so far. Extremely ambiguious. His English sucks and you can't even read his quiz. He doesn't remember anything and never fulfill his promise. But we all know that he is the only prof. that teaches finance in this school. so don't take him if you are not dead sure about finance!

Very hard grader! You have to study all the time for this course. If you fall behind you're in deep you know what very fast. He does a great job teaching and has a good sense of humor but don't be fooled, when you get his quiz you better be ready. I recommend this class only for those who are really serious about studying finance.

Worse teacher ever I've seen in my entire life!!!! He teaches NOTHING in class, only talks about how he makes big money from doing stocks. Do you believe the prof. will care students if he needs to rush back to the screen 5 minutes before the market shuts? disorganized, way behind schedule, confusing, cant find him outside of class. BAD BAD BAD!

He's awesome, very good speaker, even if he occasionally digresses and makes finance exciting. He gives a lot of tests, but you can avoid the final by doing well on the weekly tests. :)
