He's a pretty decent prof who teaches the concepts well and cares about his students' success. He provides practice questions that are very similar to the midterm and final. Definitely recommended to any SAF student.

Ryerson's Finance profs are almost all bad, but Scott is your best choice. He's pretty old school which can be annoying since calculator instructions are glossed over. He teaches everything in simple step-by-step ways though. In-class handouts are important since he writes the exams. Text is pretty much a must. He also looks like Bill Murray kinda.

Scott is the best choice for a finance course. I had him for both 300 and 401 and I did well in them, however he is mostly disorganized but if you study yourself and go to class and review his problems, you can get at least a B if you study well. The course itself is hard.

I was hesitant about taking it w/Scott but I am SO happy that I did. The exams are based on the EXACT examples he goes through in class so you better not skip. Literally what we go over in class is on the exam - text was of no use. He is willing to stay after class & help as lots of material is covered during the lecture. Found it easier than 300

It takes a while to get used to Scott's way of teaching. He also tells jokes which are not funny but his midterms/exams are very straightforward. Put in some work and study everything he goes over in class and it is easy to do well. He also gives weekly handouts so its smart to come to class. He is the weirdest yet one of my fav profs at Ryerson

Scott is a real gem. Show up to class, study what he teaches and its an easy A. You are still required to read the textbook since the course is difficult but he is honestly the best for this course!!!!

Scott is probably the best choice for a finance course. He does a decent job teaching but one thing thats golden about him is that whatever he teaches in class shows up on exams. Just study his problems and its an easy A

OK listen up. scott anderson is not even that bad. all you need to do is go to class and have a buddy with you to share notes and study together. if you go to class and take proper notes and try to make it work you will pass. also his midterms are based on what we do in class. took him for both fin300 and fin401.

Has a very strange teaching style. Very unorganized and from a online perspective, the stuff he posts on D2L is terrible for studying by yourself. Finance is already a pain to take but Anderson makes it a million times harder

Attendance is mandatory until midterm as the midterm is based on the problems he does in class. After the midterm, going to class is not going to be much help. The final exam was very difficult compared to the midterm. Try to get another prof if you can.

tbh he is a really good prof. he makes his own midterms and everything on it is from what he teaches in class, also after the midterm the course gets detailed and might seem harder but u can stay back after class and he will explain it to u again and tells u to do practise questions from the book to get better at it.

Finance is really hard. You will either love or hate Scott's way of teaching. He goes on and on and you have to mke notes. Just focus on his notes for the midterm as the final is harder. Also, he takes forever to upload the marks. Overall, he is a great prof.

Hes not the best prof, but not the worst either. The course is hard so he tries his best to teach the material. Get ready to write a lot because all his notes are written on the board. The midterm was fair but the exam was brutal! It was common though. You have to put in the work in this course. He goes over a lot of practice problems. Moves fast

Nice guy. Class and tests are almost entirely excel based. Gives you basically the test questions beforehand through previous tests or group assignments that are basically the same as the midterm/exam. Went over and explained all the problems on excel pretty clearly. Makes a couple of jokes here and there, but make sure to go to class to pass

He was a decent prof, hard to understand sometimes but he makes the midterm and final easy compared to a lot of finance prof. I skipped most of the classes but still managed to pass with a C+
